Guardian Druid Tank Guide (WoW MoP 5.3)
Welcome to our Guardian Druid tank guide for World of Warcraft MoP 5.3. Here, you will learn
everything you need to know about playing a Guardian Druid in a raid environment,
though most of the content also applies to normal and heroic dungeons.
This guide has been reviewed and approved by Arielle, (@riftmaker), a prominent Guardian Druid theorycrafter and the main author of The Inconspicuous Bear (a very respected Guardian Druid resource).
Guardian Druid tanks are currently fairly well balanced, when compared to the other tanking classes, although they are somewhat underrepresented. Guardians rely mostly on avoiding physical damage and mitigating it through their abilities and their mastery. Magic damage reduction is provided passively.
As a Guardian Druid, you are relatively equally well suited for single target and AoE tanking.
Guardian Druids have a playstyle that is both easy to learn and easy to master. Additionally, like all Druids, they provide many utility abilities to the raid group, making them a worthy addition.
Note that this guide focuses on aspects which are specific to Guardian Druids, and general tanking strategies are beyond its scope. If you wish to know more about the tanking role and what you can do to improve, we recommend that you read our tanking guide.
To make it easy to bookmark the specific sections you are interested in, we have split the guide into 7 pages:
