Lore
Star Augur Etraeus is one of the 5 bosses that can be fought in an order of the raid's choosing.
The nightborne astromancer Etraeus has devoted long years of research to scouring the skies of Azeroth, seeking answers to the great mysteries of the universe. His scrying has shown him worlds beyond our ken, and the power of the Nightwell allows him to draw upon the essence of those worlds to amplify his own powers.
Outline
Star Augur Etraeus is a 4 phase fight that emphasizes coordination above all else. The majority of the fight is a single target encounter, though he will occasionally summon a powerful adds to assist him. As the raid gets further into the fight he showcases his mastery over the magics of Frost, Fel, and Void.
TL;DR
Tanks
- Stack with clumps of players to remove Absolute Zero.
- Clear the pools of Felflame with the Fel Impact cast.
- Perform a taunt swap at 4+ stacks of Felburst.
- Perform a taunt swap at 5-7 stacks of Voidburst to avoid excessive damage when it expires and spreads.
- Get out of the group with Void Impact to spawn the Thing That Should Not Be. Ensure it is far enough from the boss to avoid Void Shift being applied to both targets.
Healers
- Heal players through the heavy damage sustained by Coronal Ejection.
- Have raid cooldowns prepared for Fel Nova as it deals heavy raid wide damage.
- Heal players affected by Voidburst as it spreads through the raid.
DPS
- Get to the edge with Icy Ejection to avoid damaging nearby players with Shatter.
- Try not to take up too much space in the room when placing your Felflames from Fel Ejection.
- Quickly eliminate the Thing That Should Not Be when it spawns along with Voidlings spawned from Void Eruptions.
Everyone
- Assist with the soaking of Absolute Zero when not already Chilled.
- Stack up for Frigid Nova.
- Get away from the boss during the cast of Fel Nova.
- Turn away from the Thing That Should Not Be when it casts Witness the Void to avoid being feared.
Mythic Notes
- Match with players of the same star sign when Grand Conjunction is cast. Avoid players with other star signs; a collision with a star sign that does not match or your sign expiring (10 seconds) will result in a Grand Trine (always a raid wipe).
- The Shatter from Icy Ejection will now leave behind an ice crystal that emits a Frigid Pulse. The pulse deals heavy Frost damage to anyone with 5 yards and stuns them for 1.5 seconds.
- Fel Ember causes a meteor to slowly fall from the sky, dealing heavy Fire damage and creating several patches of Felflame upon impact.
- World-Devouring Force occurs once a minute in the final phase. An eye manifests, firing a beam through the center of the platform in a line that will instantly kill anyone hit by it. It will also leave behind an untargetable eye that damages players periodically.
Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp
Bloodlust should be used in Phase 4, as it is the most difficult phase of the fight, and must be finished quickly before the raid damage from Voidburst becomes too lethal. It is recommended to use it on the first Thing That Should Not Be to kill it as quickly as possible.
