1.

Gold-Making Guide for Ashes of Creation

As you venture through the lands of Verra, you'll quickly realize that the one currency that you can never truly have enough of is gold. With gold, you have the power to purchase everything you need. Whether it's high-quality weapons and armor, fuel to further enchant your equipment, raw resources for crafting and leveling up your artisan skills, or anything else, if you have a surplus of gold, you have the freedom to play the game in a more flexible, effective way.

However, it can be a bit challenging for some to gather a lot of gold, especially if they are constantly spending it!

In this guide, you'll learn a handful of unique, effective strategies on how to quickly make gold in Ashes of Creation. These are just a few examples of how you can make gold - there are many others out there, and the more unique they are, the better, as that means there's likely less players doing the same strategies, leading to more gold-making opportunities for you.

Using the tips and tricks below, we were able to hit the current individual gold cap, which is currently 1,000 gold. Each of these tips can be utilized to generate a large amount of gold overtime. Feel free to watch the video below for an overview, or continue to scroll and read more about these gold-making methods!

Please note: This game is still in its Alpha phase, and many of these tips and tricks listed below may change over time, and many new methods will be uncovered as additional updates are added to the game. We will continue to update this guide as the game continues to evolve to ensure you have everything you need to quickly make gold in Ashes of Creation.

2.

Running Caravans

Running caravans is one of the fastest (and riskiest) ways to make gold in Ashes of Creation. By investing in large caravans and piling it up with valuable cargo, you are essentially attempting to transport resources to a new Node in order to generate a profit. The more valuable your cargo is, and the further you travel, the more gold you will generate. However, if your caravan gets destroyed be other players, they will be able to loot your cargo leaving you with nothing.

With that being said, it's best practice to run caravans in large groups for protection. The easiest and safest methods of running caravans may be determined based on your server and overall relationships that your guild may have. There are many factors that could improve or hurt your chances of succesfully running a caravan, including the time in which you run the caravan, the server you're on, overall guild relations, and many, many more.

Although this may be the fastest way to generate gold, it's important to note that you are risking losing gold through caravans if your caravan gets destroyed, as you will not only lose all the cargo you spent your Glint on, but also the caravan itself (which costs you gold to build).

3.

Glint Farming

One of the most valuable resources in Ashes of Creation is known as Glint. Although Glint cannot be directly traded between players, it can be used in a handufl of different ways that could lead to more gold in your pocket. For starters, in order to get cargo for your caravans, you'll need to spend Glint. With that being said, generating a large amount of Glint is a requirement if you plan on attempting running caravans with a large amount of pvaluable cargo. In case you think caravans are too risky for you, that's okay too, as you can actually directly sell gold to vendors for a decent amount of gold.

To be more specific, view the list below to see how much gold you can quickly gain by directly selling it to vendors:

  1. Dull Glint – 10 Copper
  2. Dim Glint – 1 Silver
  3. Glowing Glint – 10 Silver
  4. Bright Glint – 1 Gold
  5. Illustrious Glint – 10 Gold
  6. Radiant Glint – 100 Gold

Please note: If you are in a position where you can succesfully run caravans, it's recommended to use Glint entirely to purchase cargo to run your caravans, as that will lead to a larger amount of gold. Based on your current situation in the game will determine the best option for you.

Almost every mob in Ashes of Creation drops Glint, but there are certain types of mobs that tend to drop them much, much more frequently, such as Overcharged Shardlings. As you explore and grind throughout Verra, keep note of the different areas you come across that have a large amount of Glint drops from mobs, as you will likely want to revisit these areas down the road to generate more Glint.

4.

Farming Node Currency

One of the most valuable items in the current state of the game are Journeyman Enchanting Scrolls, which allow players to enchant level 20 gear. Currently, the only way to acquire these scrolls is essentially by purchasing them directly from a Citizen Reputation Vendor, where you will need to exchange around 458 node currency in exchange for one Journeyman Enchanting Scroll (this number may flactuate based on the node's tax rate). In most servers, these scrolls are going from anywhere between 20 to 25 gold each, making it a major gold-making opportunity.

However, in order to get your hands on a large number of these Journeyman Enchanting Scrolls, you'll need to generate a large amount of node currency. Below are a handful of methods on how to quickly gather this type of currency, allowing you to purchase more scrolls to sell to other players.

  1. Mayoral Commission Boards – There will be a Mayoral Commission Board at every Node throughout Verra, which will allow you to accept a handful of quests that could range from gathering raw resources, to killing a certain type of mob, to many other things. By completing this quest, you will be awarded node currency.
  2. Buy Orders – Although buy orders may not always be active in every node, this method is likely one of the most effective. By interacting with the Requisition Agent (near the storage at every node), you will be able to access every active buy oder in the node. These buy orders are set by that node's mayor, and each will require you to exchange a certain type and amount of raw resources in exchange for citizen tokens. Some of these buy orders are very easy to complete, such as simply gathering 10 Oak Wood and 10 Basalt, which in exchange will net you 10 node currency. You can do this up to 100 times per day, allowing you to quickly gather up even more node currency. View the image above to get a better idea of some other types of buy orders that currently exist.
5.

Gathering Raw Resources

One of the most common (and obvious) ways to make gold in Ashes of Creation is through your gathering professions, which includes Fishing, Herbalism, Hunting, Lumberjacking, and Mining. Within the current state of the game, Fishing is not as profitable as the other gathering professions. As you continuously level each of these professions, you will be able to enhance the overall effectiveness of your gathering tools, which will eventually allow you to increase your rarity rating in that specific profession. The higher the quality of the raw resource you gather, the higher the overall value it has, leading to more gold.

For example, when starting your mining journey in Ashes of Creation, you'll have a Novice Mining Pickaxe, which only has added mining speed rating. When you eventually hit Journeyman mining (at level 20), you'll be able to craft a Journeyman Mining Pickaxe, providing you with an added mining quantity rating, mining rarity rating, and mining speed rating, leading to a higher chance of gathering higher quality materials.

As of today, the most-valuable raw resources that can be sold for large amounts of gold includes the following:

  1. Braidwood Wood
  2. Dragon Tree Wood
  3. Weeping Willow Wood
  4. Rividium
  5. Iron
  6. Lumadon
  7. Grave Lily
  8. Giant Bluebell
  9. And more!

If you are focusing on the Hunting profession, any high-quality animal carcasses you gather that are Heroic quality or higher are extremely sought-after by other players, making it another great way to make gold in Ashes of Creation. Additionally, if you also have your Animal Husbandry profession at a high level, you could attempt to train raw animals that you've gathered to turn them into mounts. The higher the speed a mount has, the more valuable and sought-after it is, leading to even more gold. By maximizing your Hunting and Animal Hubsandry professions, you have the ability to create and sell mounts for fast gold.

Please note: Animal Husbandry is most profitable if you are one of the earliest players on the derver focusing on this artisan skill. As soon as you unlock the ability to train the next threshold of mounts, be sure to take advantage and train as many mounts as possible and quickly sell them before your competitors do! Once a player purchases a high-quality mount, they'll have less need of buying more, so the overall opportunity in generating gold with this profession decreases over time as more and more players acquire mounts.

6.

Processing

Similarly to how there are gathering professions, there are also processing professions. These include weaving, tanning, metalworkding, lumber milling, farming, stonemasonry, alchemy, cooking, and animal husbandry. Each of these can lead to multiple gold-making opportunities, and many are extremly easy (and risk-free) to do. For example, with the lumber milling profession, you can convert Oak Wood into Oak Timber, increasing its sell-value quite a bit. If you then process that oak timber into Oak Boards, the sell-value increases again. You can make a HUGE amount of passive income simply by mass gathering oak wood, then processing it twice and selling those processed goods to an NPC vendor.

If you prefer the metalworking profession, you can use that raw oak wood to convert it into Charcoal instead, greatly increasing its sell-cost to NPCs, providing you with another source of income. There are many other forms of processing, but these two tend to be some of the easiest and most used methods currently.

With that being said, it's a good idea to try and always keep things processing in the background as you are adventuring, as it takes time to process raw materials into processed ones. By continuously processing raw materials and selling those (instead of the raw materials themselves), you'll quickly see that you'll be making a large amount of gold!

7.

Killing Named Enemies

As you venture throughout Verra, you will quickly realize that there are certain enemies that you'll come across that are much, much more powerful than others. Many times these powerful enemies drop unique items that are very sought-after, providing you with a unique opportunity to farm a specific named enemy to stockpile valuable items that you could sell to other players for a profit. For example, the Growler named enemy drops a variety of sought-after items, including the Growler's Severed Head and Wolfen Maw helmets (that can drop at any rarity). As you can see from the picture above, you can farm this enemy and kill it multiple times to stock-pile these items, then post them on the market to sell to other players for quick profit. Some named enemies are more heavily hunted than others - so be sure to keep your eyes open for good opportunities to farm named enemies with valuable drops!

Please note: The Wolven Maw helmet is no longer as sought-after as it used to be after recent stat changes, but this method of farming named mobs for their equipment and crafting materials is still a major gold-generating opportunity. Just be wise on which named enemies you choose to farm, as some are much more valuable than others.

8.

Playing the Marketplace

Just like many other MMO's, Ashes of Creation has a system that will allow players to set up shops to buy and sell items from other players. Within every node throughout Verra, there is a unique Marketplace Manager NPC, which allows each player to sell up to 20 items within each given node. By understanding the typical market prices of sought-after items on your server, you'll be able to explore other players' stores to see if you can make an easy flip! This method could be a bit risky based on the item you are trying to resell, but you can definitely get lucky sometimes and make some quick gold simply by buying low and selling high!

This method really only works if you have a strong understanding of the typical buying price of certain items on your server. By have a strong understanding of the typical market price of certain high-quality items, you'll be able to act fast and purchase items when you see a good deal, allowing you to quickly flip for some easy gold.

9.

Knowledge of Recipes

In order to get the most powerful weapons and armor, players are required to partake in crafting in some way, shape, or form, whether that's crafting a specific item themselves, or working with a friend or another player to craft a specific item for them. Crafting takes more than just raw resources though - it also requires a recipe. Once a recipe is learned, that individual can craft that specific item moving forward (and will not require another recipe while crafting that type of item).

Recipes drop from a wide range of enemies throughout Verra, and some are much more sought-after than others. In many cases, players may have their hands on an incredibly rare (and valuable) recipe and they may not even know it. Some recipes can go for over 20 gold each, so it's important to double-check all recipes before selling them off to ensure that you are getting hte most you can out of them.

The list below highlights some of the most sought-after recipes in the game. If you have one of these, be sure to do your research and don't sell them too quickly!

  3. Recipe: Rividium Boots
