Last updated on Jan 24, 2025 at 00:00 by Shikhu

Crafting in Ashes of Creation involves using refined materials made by Processors to be used in the making some of the best gear in Verra. This guide covers what Crafting is for, Crafting Buffs, and more!

1.

Introduction to Crafting Professions

Crafting is one category of Professions available in Ashes of Creation. Alongside Gathering and Processing, they make up the three types of Artisans available in the game.

Crafting can be used to create a wide range of items such as gear, weapons, storage and even caravans. This comes at the cost of having to unlock the recipe for many items available in Ashes as well as paying money to craft.

2.

What Professions Fall Under Crafting in Ashes of Creation?

There are eight Professions that fall under Crafting. These are:

  • Arcane Engineering
  • Armor Smithing
  • Carpentry
  • Jeweler
  • Leatherworking
  • Scribe
  • Tailoring
  • Weapon Smithing
3.

Crafting Stats

Crafting classes only have two main stats.

  • Crafting Quality Rating: Increases the quality of crafted items.
  • Crafting XP Rating: Increases the XP gained while crafting.

Both of the available stats can be found on any equipment that is Apprentice or above.

4.

Crafting Stations

Crafting Professions use various stations which can be located around nodes such as in villages and freeholds by simply providing the materials required and paying a fee. The amount needed to pay can depend on the item as well as any tax placed in the area.

The rarity of items used in crafting alongside your stats changes your chances of obtaining higher quality items. This gives them increased stats, making them more valuable.

Different tiers of crafting stations are required to be able to craft higher tiers of items. Higher tier crafting stations come with node stage increases and can take time to build. Different nodes will also only have access to a handful of stations depending on what the mayor chooses from meaning the station you require could be on the other side of the map.

Recipes in Crafting

Many of the Crafting recipes added in Ashes of Creation have to be obtained using various methods. Additionally, you must have that specific Profession at the right Artisan Certification before you are able to learn recipes used at that tier.

Recipes can be obtained from vendors, given as drops from mobs or bosses or even rewarded as loot from treasure hunting. You can also trade/buy crafting recipes from other players.

6.

Crafting Gear and Equipment

Unlike Gathering, Crafting does not have any tools while gear must be crafted at specific stations.

Currently, there are very limited options for what gear you should use with there being one set for each Certification tier. Simply aim for the highest rarity you can to increase your overall stats, but do not worry too much at lower levels. Given Crafting only has 2 stats and one is related to leveling, Crafting Quality Rating is the only stat you need to worry about once you hit the level cap.

6.1.

Crafting Consumables and Buffs

There are three consumables and buffs that can increase your crafting efficiency.

  • Elixirs: Provide buffs to a stat, including Crafting Cost Reduction.
  • Food: Provides buffs to a stat.
  • Scrolls: Provide an XP buff.

Elixirs are made by Alchemists and can be used to buff your XP Rating or Quality Rating but also a different stat called Crafting Cost Reduction Rating. This decreases the cost of any crafts completed on a workbench making it highly valuable.

Scrolls last for 3 hours and provide an XP buff. There are two types of scrolls with one providing XP to a specific class and another providing XP for any Crafting Artisan Profession. Higher tier and rarity scrolls need to be crafted by Scribes and can be great for leveling.
