March 28th/29th Patch Notes – Ashes of Creation Alpha Two

Two Ashes of Creation hotfixes were deployed on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29, addressing some important issues and implementing important fixes. Additionally, this testing weekend will officially conclude on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 07:00 CET (March 31, 2025, at 10:00 PM PT).

Hotfix Highlights

  • Freehold purchasing re-enabled – Players can now purchase and place Rooting Balls on Freeholds again.
  • Caravan & Naval Fixes – Issues related to Caravans disappearing and Caravel Potion Launchers detaching across server boundaries have been resolved.
  • Node Siege Improvements – The Mayor of a Node is now correctly assigned as the Defender Leader, preventing an issue where they were not given proper leadership roles.
  • Economy Adjustments – Node Citizens’ Cloaks can no longer be deconstructed into Siege Contracts, and non-named humanoid mobs now drop equipment as intended.
  • UI & Visual Improvements – Improved wake visual FX on the Caravel, restored allied nameplate visibility, and bubble effects now play when characters are swimming.

KNOWN ISSUES – FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2025

  • Deconstruction has been disabled as we investigate issues with this system
  • Caravans may disappear on launch
  • Some Enemy NPCs are not dropping anything besides Glint
  • Turquoise Sea landscape and foliage at a distance will not render currently so the zone may look and feel sparse
  • Caravel ships may lose their Potion Launchers when crossing a server boundary
  • When declaring a Node Siege, if a mayor isn’t online they won’t correctly become the leader of their team. Mayors may want to stay logged in to ensure they get team leadership if their Node is sieged
  • Unadorned Daggers, the Rogue archetype starting dagger, is missing textures and showing up green in-game

ALPHA TWO UPDATE NOTES 0.7.1 – FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2025

  • Freeholds – Purchasing Freeholds and placing Rooting Balls on Freeholds has been reenabled
  • Caravels and Potion Launchers can no longer be healed by characters
  • Caravans can no longer be purchased or launched while a character is launching a Caravel ship
  • Potion Launchers can no longer be targeted
  • Potion Launcher visual effects have been improved, including the animation for a character controlling the Potion Launcher
  • Deconstruction Kits have been changed to be tradable
  • Possible Salvage Results from using Deconstruction Kits will show the correct number for possible results
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some Plumeria from being able to be gathered
  • Fixed issues with some Armorsmithing and Tailoring recipes

ALPHA TWO UPDATE NOTES 0.7.2 – SATURDAY, MARCH 29, 2025

Economy & Design

  • Node Citizens’ Cloaks can no longer be deconstructed to make Node Siege Contracts
  • Resolved an issue where players could recover materials of higher rarity than intended
  • Non-named humanoid mobs now drop equipment appropriately
  • Hunting Wolf should now grant rewards upon harvesting
  • The Befallen Forge Relic now correctly unlocks T3 Journeyman Station recipes when active
  • Level 3 Nodes in the Sandsquall Desert now properly have Relic Slots and 70 Essence

Naval Updates

  • Potion Launchers no longer become detached from Caravels if the user crosses a server worker boarder
  • Player Characters are properly placed behind the Potion Launcher, and their animations match their actions while using the Explosive Potion Skill
  • Improved the wake visual FX on the Caravel
  • Resolved an issue causing animations on the Caravel sails to not play

Siege & Node Systems

  • Fixed an exploit allowing players to bypass the Node Siege Protection Zone using Tank Grapple and Rogue Grappling Hook abilities
  • The Mayor of a Node is now correctly assigned as the Defender Leader during a Node Siege
  • Citizens can no longer purchase a Siege Contract against their own Node

Gameplay & Systems

  • Purchasing a caravan and then speaking to the Harbor Master will now correctly display a caravan, not a ship
  • Rogue Stealth will properly deactivate when interacting with objects
  • Reverted changes affecting abilities that relied on velocity-based movement such as Shield Slam, restoring expected functionality

UI & Visual Improvements

  • Renamed “Show Player Nameplate” option, and restored functionality to display allied nameplates
  • Bubble effects play when players are swimming
  • Player Characters display properly when swimming fully underwater
