Treasure hunting is about to get a lot more exciting in Ashes of Creation! Players can discover treasure maps while exploring the world, but claiming these hidden riches is not as simple as digging anywhere. You will need the right excavation kit, crafting materials, and some smart searching to uncover the loot.
How Treasure Maps Work
As you explore, you will find treasure maps of different qualities, with higher-quality maps leading to greater rewards. However, you cannot just grab a shovel and start digging. You will need an excavation kit of the same quality as your map to claim your prize.
Some maps are found as “faded treasure maps,” which must be restored before use. You can craft them into usable maps by combining them with paper and red ink, made from Ruby powder, at an Alchemy Station. Once you have a complete map, you are ready to track down your treasure!
Creating an Excavation Kit
Excavation kits are crafted at an Arcane Engineering Station, using different-quality ingredients to match your treasure map. If you do not have the materials, you can buy kits from the marketplace or gather ingredients yourself.
Finding Your Treasure
When you activate a treasure map, it adds a quest to your Quest Journal. The goal is to pinpoint the overlapping area of multiple circles on the map, which marks the treasure’s hidden location. The more precise your search, the faster you will find it!
Look for discolored patches of ground. They often appear as out-of-place textures or odd-looking areas. Once you interact with the spot, the treasure chest will appear, but you will need your excavation kit to open it.
