Processing Profession Guide for Ashes of Creation

Last updated on Jan 24, 2025 at 00:00 by Shikhu

Processing in Ashes of Creation involves refining raw materials obtained by Gatherers so that they can be used in Crafting. This guide covers what Processing is for, Processing Buffs, and more!

1.

Introduction to Processing Professions

Processing is one categories of Professions available in Ashes of Creation. Alongside Gathering and Crafting, they make up the 3 types of Artisans available in the game.

The entire goal of Processing is to refine materials so that they can be used in Crafting. This involves the use of a Processing Station as well as expending fuel, often in the form of wood or other raw materials.

Some Processing Professions however do not tie into this core loop. Alchemy and Cooking directly process materials into consumables to be used in both combat and artisanship. Animal Husbandry instead supplies mounts as well as animals that can be used as part of a caravan.

2.

What Professions Fall Under Processing in Ashes of Creation?

There are nine Professions that fall under Processing. These are:

  • Alchemy
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Cooking
  • Farming
  • Lumber Milling
  • Metalworking
  • Stonemasonry
  • Tanning
  • Weaving
3.

Processing Stats

Processing classes have three main stats.

  • Processing Rarity Rating: Increases the chance of gaining rarer items while Processing.
  • Processing Quantity Rating: Increases the chance to gain additional items while Processing.
  • Processing XP Rating: Increases the XP gained while Processing.

Quantity Rating does not require any additional costs to gain more items.

4.

Processing Stations

Processing Professions use various stations which can be located around nodes such as in villages and freeholds by simply providing the materials required as well as selecting fuels.

In each station, only a single refinement process can be ongoing at any time. These also take real time to complete. The amount of time taken to refine raw materials depends on the "Job Size" selected. The higher the job size chosen the more materials used, the more fuel used and the longer it takes. This allows you to use a bunch of materials, then Gather, fight or even log off while processing continues. You can not currently process different rarities at the same time.

The highest tiers of Processing can only take place inside of freeholds. This is therefore the only way you are able to obtain some of these harder to get items. The queue slots inside of a freehold processing station are completed sequentially for all relevant players.

Processing Gear and Equipment

Unlike Gathering, Processing does not have any tools while gear must be crafted at specific stations by Crafting classes.

Currently, there are very limited options for what gear you should use with there being one set for each Certification tier. Simply aim for the highest rarity you can to increase your overall stats. Quantity and Rarity rating are the stats to aim for once at max level.

Processing Consumables and Buffs

There are three consumables and buffs that can increase your Crafting efficiency.

  • Elixirs: Provide buffs to a stat, including Crafting Cost Reduction.
  • Food: Provides buffs to a stat.
  • Scrolls: Provide an XP buff.

Elixirs, Food and Scrolls have both a "class specific" and a "generic" variation in some way. For example, Processing XP Rating vs Animal Husbandry XP Rating. With Processing allowing you to handle multiple workstations at the same time, the generic variants of these skills can be great. Pop them right before collecting items in each workstation.

Elixirs made by Alchemists and can be used to buff your XP Rating or Quality Rating but also a different stat called Processing Time Reduction Rating, such as Farming Time Reduction Rating. This can be valuable in situations where you need to speed up refinement such as if you have lots of items of different rarities.

Scrolls last for 3 hours and provide an XP buff. There are two types of scrolls with one providing XP to a specific class and another providing XP for any Processing Artisan Profession. Higher tier and rarity scrolls need to be crafted by Scribes and can be great for leveling.
