Welcome to the Ashes of Creation skill glossary for Tank! This page is great for people new to the Tank Archetype, as it contains the basic information players need to know to excel at both PvE and PvP.

Tank Skills

Below is a full list of all available skills for the Tank archetype. Each skill includes a brief description, along with important information regarding its casting and cooldown times, mana costs, range, and more.

1.1.

Absorption Field

Absorption Field	Cast: 2.1s Cooldown: 90s	332 Mana	Range: 30m	Throw a rallying banner to the target location that spawns an Absorption Field upon impact. You and allies that enter the Absorption Field are granted temporary health equal to 15% of your maximum health. This can only be applied to any specific target once per 10 seconds.

Aegis

Aegis	Cast: 0.8s Cooldown: 60s	200 Mana	Range: N/A	Create a protective dome around the caster for 15 seconds, transferring 20% of all damage received by targets within the area to the tank instead. Can be toggled off early to cancel the effect.

Charge

Charge	Cast: 1.8s Cooldown: 30s	67 Mana	Range: n/a	Channeled Ability: Charge forward in the direction you are facing. Enemies you collide with take (50%🢆) Physical damage and become Staggered. Charge will be canceled if another ability is activated or if the Charge key is pressed again..

Upgrade	Description
Charge: Knockback	Adds a knockback to targets in the way of your Charge.

Desolate

Desolate	Cast: 1.5s Cooldown: 15s	133 Mana	Range: 4m	Strikes your target and surrounding enemies for (150%🢆) Physical damage Generates 300% additional threat.

Pulverize

Pulverize	Cast: 1.5s Cooldown: 15s	100 Mana	Range: 4m	Move to your target and strike them for (225%🢆) Physical damage Generates 300% additional threat.

Upgrade	Description
Punish	Pulverize and Desolate have 100% critical hit chance against snared or recently tripped enemies.

1.6.

Fortify

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Fortify	Cast: 0.5s Cooldown: 45s	0 Mana	Range: n/a	Consumes all Courage to reduce damage taken for 10 seconds. Increases mitigation by 10% plus an additional 0.1% per Courage spent, up to a total maximum of 20%. While active, generate 300% Courage from damage taken.

Grapple

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Grapple	Cast: 1.2s Cooldown: 20s	233 Mana	Range: 25m	Take aim and hurl a chained javelin at your target, damaging the first target it contacts and immediately pulling them to the caster. The target suffers a tapering snare for 3 seconds. Cannot be used on boss enemies.

Grit	Cast: 0s Cooldown: 1s	40 Courage	Range: n/a	Increase physical mitigation by 10% for 10 seconds. This can stack up to 2 times.

Upgrade	Description
Supernatural Grit	Grit additionally applies half of its physical mitigation value to magical mitigation.

1.9.

Ground Pound

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Ground Pound	Cast: 0.6s Cooldown: 20s	50 Courage	Range: n/a	Slams the ground, dealing (200%🢆) Physical damage to enemies in front of you, while applying Tripped for 2 seconds to targets that were Staggered. Targets already Tripped are launched and take 25% more damage.

Inciting Strikes

Inciting Strikes	Cast: 0.9s Cooldown: 8s	54 Mana	Range: n/a	Slash twice in an area in front of you, dealing(75%🢆) Physical damage per hit. Generate 3 Courage per target hit with each swing, up to a maximum of 10 Courage per swing. Generates 300% Threat.

Indomitable Spirit

Indomitable Spirit	Cast: 0.5s Cooldown: 60s	100 Mana	Range: n/a	Gain Indomitable Spirit: Healing recieved increased by 20%, max health increased by 20%. Lasts 15 seconds.

Intercept	Cast: 0.7s Cooldown: 20s	100 Mana	Range: 30m	Gain Indomitable Spirit: Healing recieved increased by 20%, max health increased by 20%. Lasts 15 seconds.

Intimidating Aura

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Intimidating Aura	Cast: 0.8s Cooldown: 15s	166 Mana	Range: n/a	Emanate an aura around the caster for 8 seconds that deals (10%🢆) Magical damage with a 10% chance of applying Staggered every 0.5 seconds. Generates threat equal to 30% of your Maximum Health every tick.

Protect

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Protect	Cast: 0.5s Cooldown: 0s	67 Mana	Range: 30m	Intercept attacks that strike your friendly nearby target, redirecting 30% of the damage taken to you. Must remain within 15 meters of the target to maintain protection. If this range is exceeded for more than 5 seconds, the effect ends. If your target already has Protect from another Tank, you cannot activate Protect. If your target already has your Protect, activating Protect again will toggle it off.

Upgrade	Description
Extended Protect	Your protected target can be 10m further away before the link begins to break.

Reflect

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Reflect	Cast: 4s Cooldown: 15s	100 Mana	Range: n/a	You brace for the next hit, doubling your block mitigation rating. The first incoming attack within the next 3 seconds is reflected back to the attacker, dealing (100%🢆) Physical damage plus additional damage based on the amount of damage taken by the deflected attack, up to a maximum total of (800%🢆) Physical damage. Generates 200% additional threat.

Upgrade	Description
Opressive Reflect	If Reflect successfully reflects damage to an attacker, that attacker also becomes Tripped.

Upgrade	Description
Refreshing Reflect	Reflect restores mana equal to the damage dealt by the reflected hit, up to 20% of the caster's total mana.

Rush of Courage

Shake It Off

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Shake It Off	Cast: 0.5s Cooldown: 30s	67 Mana	Range: n/a	Activate to instantly restore 50% of the difference between damage taken and healing taken in the past 4 seconds. Always heals for at least 10% of your maximum HP. Cannot heal for more than 30% of your Maximum HP.

Upgrade	Description
Shake It Off: Unyielding	Shake It Off breaks all disabling effects on the caster.

Shield Assault

Shield Assault	Cast: 0.8s Cooldown: 12s	133 Mana	Range: 7m	Lunge forward and deal (150%🢆) Physical damage while applying Staggered to that target. Gain 25 courage on hit. Generates 300% additional threat.

Shield Slam	Cast: 0.8s Cooldown: 12s	67 Mana	Range: 10m	Lunge forward and deal (125%🢆) Physical damage while applying Staggered to enemies in front of you. If a target was hit, gain 25 courage. Generates 300% additional threat.

Slam	Cast: 0.8s Cooldown: 0s	40 Courage	Range: 4m	Deal (200%🢆) Physical damage to targets in front of you. Generates 300% additional threat.

Taunt

Taunt	Cast: 0.6s Cooldown: 10s	100 Mana	Range: 30m	Taunt target enemy, generating threat equal to two times your maximum health and applying Humiliated.

1.22.

Tomahawk

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Tomahawk	Cast: 0.6s Cooldown: 10s	100 Mana	Range: 20m	Throw a Tomahawk at target enemy, dealing (100%🢆) Physical damage. Deals 50% more damage to targets hit from behind.

Upgrade	Description
Tomahawk: Trip	Tomahawk applies Tripped to the target if it hits them from behind.

1.23.

Tremoring Bellow

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Tremoring Bellow	Cast: 0.8s Cooldown: 12s	133 Mana	Range: n/a	Apply Snared to enemies in front of you with a loud shout. Then quickly follow up with a powerful ground stomp, dealing (150%🢆) Physical damage to enemies around you. Generates 200% additional threat.

Tremoring Strike

Tremoring Strike	Cast: 0.8s Cooldown: 12s	80 Mana	Range: 4m	Deal (175%🢆) Physical damage and apply Tripped to target enemy for 2 seconds. Generates 200% additional threat.

Upgrade	Description
Forceful Tremors	Tremoring Bellow's Snare last twice as long. Tremoring Strike's Knockdown lasts 1s longer.

Vengeance

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Vengeance	Cast: 0.6s Cooldown: 8s	67 Mana	Range: 4m	Combo ability: Launch up to 3 consecutive attacks against target enemy. Each hit grants 1 stack of Vengeance to the caster, granting 2% of maximum health as temporary health for 8 seconds, up to 3 stacks. Hit 1 - (120%🢆) Physical damage. Hit 2 - (130%🢆) Physical damage. Hit 3 - (150%🢆) Physical damage. Incoming damaging hits reduce this ability's cooldown by 0.5 seconds, and hits that were blocked reduce the cooldown by 1 second. This may trigger at a maximum of once per second. Generates 100% additional threat.

Upgrade	Description
Relentless Vengeance	Increases the shielding of Vengeance by 50%.

Wall

Action Name	Timers	Cost	Range & Radius	Description
Wall	Cast: 0.5s Cooldown: 60s	233 Mana	Range: 30m	Summons a glorious Wall at the target location. Obstructs movement and blocks projectiles.

Courageous

Courageous	Cast: n/a Cooldown: n/a	n/a	Range: N/A	Build Courage through your valiant actions in combat. Courage can be spent on certain abilities and effects for unique advantages on the battlefield. Weapon combo finishers and extended finishers generate 33 Courage and apply Staggered to targets hit. Taking damage also generates Courage based on amount of incoming damage. Threat generated by damage dealt is increased.

Iron Aura

Iron Aura	Cast: Instant Cooldown: 5s	n/a	Range: N/A	Reduces damage taken by 5% for all party members within 10 meters.
