Amara (Siren) Phasecast Gunmara BiS Gear and Stat Priorities
Welcome to the gear page of our Amara Phasecast Gunmara build, where you will find the best-in-slot gear for that build and the stat priority you need to follow for each slot.
Structure of This Guide
This Amara Phasecast Gunmara build guide is split in 3 different pages. The other 2 pages are the build overview and the skills, which you can access by clicking the buttons below.
Best-in-slot Gear
As a build heavily reliant on weapon damage, it is important to ensure you are using a weapon that deals a large amount of damage per second. Nearly all of the Legendary weapons from the Jakobs manufacturer fit this criteria and should be a good initial indication of a good gun for this build. Of the Jakobs weapons, Hellwalker should be your first priority. The sheer damage of the gun pairs excellently with the build and the 1 ammo magazine the gun has is negated by its high reload speed. If you have yet to find yourself a Hellwalker, The Duc makes an excellent second choice.
While the aforementioned guns are great for general use, there are better options for some situations. Specifically against bosses or enemies you can guarantee critical hits, you should try to pick up a King's Call/Queen's Call pistol. This high-damage gun will add ammo back to you gun on a critical hit, allowing you to overcome its low magazine size and fire continually as long as you crit.
For Class Mods, Phasezerker is by far the best fit for this build. It provides an additional method of gaining Rush stacks as well as further weapon damage and Action Skill Cooldown. If you do not have this Class Mod, there are no strong alternative Legendary options.
When selecting Artifacts, Otto Idol can be used to provide you with a little bit more sustain. Alternatively you can look for the Last Stand Epic Artifact or any Legendary Artifact with Last Stand as part of its effect. However, it is much more important you choose an Artifact for its secondary stats. You should highly prioritise having bonus magazine size for your weapon, which will help overcome some of the low magazine size of Jakobs weapons, reducing the frequency of reloads, increasing your overall damage output.
Due to this build having minimal healing from weapons and skills available, picking the right shield is essential for survival. The Transformer is this optimal choice for the task at hand. Not only does the shield absorb Shock damage from your enemies, but it gives you the ability to heal yourself with your own self-inflicted Shock damage. Alternatively, you can choose to use the Stop-Gap shield. While this option lacks the healing like The Transformer, it provides a nice immunity effect when your shield is depleted, allowing you to quickly finish off enemies or find somewhere safe to hide.
In this build, Grenade Mods are not used for damage as there are no skills chosen that really boost them; instead, they serve as an alternative source of healing. If you are using a The Transformer Shield, you should try to find yourself a Grenade Mod that deals large amounts of Shock damage to heal yourself, with Fastball being the best option for this. Alternatively you can use Tran-fusion, which can be used for its lifesteal effect to directly restore your health.
Anointed Rolls
Anointed rolls are special additional effects that can appear on weapons and shields at higher levels. The special effects relate to the use of action skills and provide powerful temporary buffs.
This Phasecast Gunmara build greatly benefits from one Anointed effect in particular, 'After using Phasecast, Weapon Damage is increased by 250% for a short time'. This huge boost in damage is maintainable almost indefinitely due to skill points helping you use your Action Skill more often. This Anointed effect is so powerful that it is worth using a significantly weaker shield or gun just to be able to get the bonus damage.
Alternatively, there are a bunch of anointments that will boost your weapon damage after your Action Skill has ended. 'On Action Skill End, Weapon Damage is increased by 100% for a short time', 'On Action Skill End, Deal 125% more Weapon Damage to Badass, Named, and Boss enemies for a short time' and 'On Action Skill End, Critical Damage is increased by 25% for a short time'.
Alternative Gear from Missions
This build is fairly flexible in weapon choices, making most guns throughout your adventures fair well, reducing the need for mission rewards to boost your damage. However, one such gun you should look out for is Traitor's Death. This assault rifle is a reward for the Going Rogue mission in Ambermire. The gun itself has the special effect of having a 25% to deal double damage as Incendiary, this allows you to make use of the Siren Tempest skill to boost the damage of the weapon further.
