Fl4k (Beastmaster) Fade Away Crit Damage Bis Gear and Stat Priorities
Welcome to the gear page of our Fl4k Fade Away Crit Damage build, where you will find the best-in-slot gear for that build and the stat priority you need to follow for each slot.
Structure of This Guide
This Fl4k Fade Away Crit Damage build guide is split in 3 different pages. The other 2 pages are the build overview and the skills, which you can access by clicking the buttons below.
Best-in-slot Gear
As this build is heavily reliant on weapons, many weapons are required for optimal play. However, all weapons mentioned are excellent in their own right and can be used in place of any weapons you are missing.
The first weapon you should look for this build is a King's Call/Queen's Call pistol. The gun has a very small magazine size, but refunds ammo to your magazine if you achieve a critical hit. The weapon itself has a high damage output and allows you to shoot indefinitely as long as you crit, making it an excellent gun to pair with your Fade Away. However, this gun is less than ideal when you are unable to crit and you should look for alternatives.
The second weapon you should look for is a Lucian's Call or Rowan's Call. These assault rifles have good rates of fire and large magazines for consistent shooting. They will also refund ammo on critical hits and ricochet bullets to nearby enemies, making them excellent guns for general usage. As the overall damage per second of these guns is not as high as your other guns, they should be used to fill the time when your Fade Away is on cooldown and to trigger your Head Count skill.
The last weapon you should look for is a Lyuda. The burst damage of the gun is amongst the highest in the game, with a single magazine from the gun being enough to take down many large enemies and bosses while using Fade Away. The drawback of this gun is that it does not have the ammo generation effect of the other guns, resulting in you burning through your ammo very quickly. The gun is therefore best used in situations where you require a huge burst of damage.
For Class Mods, Bounty Hunter is by far the best choice for this build. The on-hit effect gives you an easy way to trigger your Kill Skills and the second ability allows you to use your Hunter's Eye skill for a significant damage boost against bosses.
For this build, your choice of Artifact is not too important. Victory Rush can be used for a small boost in damage when taking on Badass enemies. Alternatively you can look for the Last Stand Epic Artifact, which will provide you with temporary invulnerability when your health drops below 50% to give you additional survivability. However, you should primarily be choosing your Artifact based on the secondary stats. The secondary stats you should look for are weapon type-specific damage and magazine size.
Due to this build having minimal healing from weapons and skills available, picking the right shield is essential for survival. The Transformer is the optimal choice for the task at hand. Not only does the shield absorb Shock damage from your enemies, but it gives you the ability to heal yourself with your own self-inflicted Shock damage. Alternatively, you can choose to use the Stop-Gap shield. While this option lacks the healing like The Transformer, it provides a nice immunity effect when you shield is depleted, allowing you to quickly finish off enemies or find somewhere safe to hide.
In this build, Grenade Mods are not used for damage as there are no skills chosen that really boost them; instead, they serve as an alternative source of healing. If you are using a The Transformer Shield, you should try to find yourself a Grenade Mod that deals large amounts of Shock damage to heal yourself, with Fastball being the best option for this. Alternatively you can use Tran-fusion, which can be used for its lifesteal effect to directly restore your health.
Anointed Rolls
Anointed rolls are special additional effects that can appear on weapons and shields at higher levels. The special effects relate to the use of action skills and provide powerful temporary buffs.
Unfortunately for this build, none of the Fl4k-specific anointments provide damage for this build. Instead, you should look for damage boosts usable for all classes. The best choice for this is 'On Action Skill End, Weapon Damage is increased by 100% for a short time'.
Alternatively, you can also look for the 'On Action Skill End, Deal 125% more Weapon Damage to Badass, Named, and Boss enemies for a short time' anointment. This option is slightly weaker for general usage but slightly stronger for dealing with bosses.
Alternative Gear from Missions
If you have been unlucky, or simply too impatient, to get yourself a Lyuda, you will be guaranteed to get one as a reward for completing all of Zer0's target of opportunity missions throughout the game. However, as this is an end-game weapon, you should make sure your character is maximum level before completing the final target of opportunity.
