Welcome to our guide for the Alchemist Profession! This page will provide you with any relavent information on the Profession including the best ways to level it and any items or quests related to it.

1.

Alchemist Profession

The Alchemist profession is centered around the art of potion-making, requiring you to gather various ingredients through Forager, Gatherer, Minefighter and Delver. You then process them into valuable potions that offer healing, buffs, and other benefits. Alchemists play a crucial role in Brighter Shores, creating potions that help adventurers survive and thrive in dangerous environments.

Locations & Map

Potion making in Hopeport takes place at the Apothecary, located off Stone Street. Here's a quick summary of everything you need.

Alchemist Map

  • Apothocary – The location for all potion crafting stations and the ingredients bank where ingredients are stored.
  • Alchemist Recipe Book – Here you will find all the recipes for Alchemist and the ingredients they require.
  • Ebsworth – You can sell all your completed meals for cash at this vendor.
  • Potion Reagents (Zeltay) – You can buy any ingredient available for your Alchemist level here.

Getting Started

To begin the Alchemist profession, can head to the Apothocary and begin potion-making there. To get ingredients, you can either purchase them from the Town Square or by gathering them yourself through Forager and other professions as you get to higher levels. You will first need to buy empty bottles from Ebsworth at a measely 2 per 100. Bottles are stored in the toolbelt and stack up to 999.

Purchasing Bottles from Ebsworth

When you have your ingredients and bottles, you can start processing them. You start by taking 12 of each ingredient to the Reagent Prepration Station, and then when finished you will make the final potion by activating the Standard Potion Station.

Steps to make a Standard Potion

Finally, you can either bank your potions at the potion bank, or sell them to Ebsworth. It is faster to bank first and sell in bulk later, due to potions stacking up to 1,000.

As you level up, you will unlock new potion types and higher level recipes. Alchemist's ingredients scale quite aggressively, and as such sometimes the requirements to gather are vastly different to the requirement to craft. For example, the level 10 tempestae strength potion requires 41 Forager. These ingredients will be more expensive to purchase as they are higher level as well.

Level 10 Potion that requires 41 Forager

Other times a high level potion might require a low level Gathering or Minefighter. The highest level potion is always the most XP/h, but often far more expensive than other potions. Later on in this guide you will find a list of recommended potions to craft.

Potent Potion Crafting

At level 35 you unlock the ability to make potent potions. Certain recipes will send you to the potent potion station instead of the standard potion station after preparing the reagents.

Activating the potent potion station will start a minigame. In this minigame, you need to balance the meters and timers of 4 different devices. If one of the four devices sits in the red ! icon for too long, the potion will fail, and you get a lower grade potion and no experience.

This minigame however is easily solveable in a pattern, and will only be failed if you step away from the game entirely. To do so, perform the following steps:

Each device is listed as 1 - 4, left to right.

  1. Wait 5 or so seconds for the potion to get halfway complete (At the bottom of the UI). Do not worry if they start beeping.
  2. Activate device 3, and then device 2.
  3. When the potion is ready, you can then activate device 4, 3, 2, 1 in that order.
  4. Repeat step 3 every time the potion is ready. You CAN use the action queue for this as well.
Crafting Potent Potions Method

By performing this method you can loop through all of your reagents until finished. You can save time additional by preparing 12 ingredients, dropping them, making 12 more, then starting the potent potion crafting with a full backpack of 24.

3.2.

Passive Activities

At level 20 you unlock the ability to spend knowledge points to unlock passive Alchemist activities. You can purchase ingredients from the Fishmonger and Kevin as usual to setup the passive activitiy. Alchemist has both free passives and two-ingredient passives

'Ebsworth Work' activities are free to perform and can be done at the back desk of the Alchemist shop. This wil perform your best unlocked action, for up to 24 hours offline.

You can also make potions passively. These potions will buff your other passive activities in other professions. To make a passive potion you require one of each ingredient and use the passive potion workbench. You can have 11 + 11 ingredients for a total of 11 hours of passive training.

Ingredients will be gathered from passive activities in other professions, or you can buy them from the Reagents Vendor.

Additional Tips

It should be noted that unlike profitable crafting professions like Chef and Leatherworker, almost every recipe in Alchemy is a loss in money to outright buy all of the ingredients for. There are 5 profitable potions, but they start at level 35 onwards.

Alchemist Leveling Route to 50

Here is a detailed leveling route which will cost the least amount of money up until 55, where you unlock the Brannof Inheritance quest requirement.

4.1.

Level 0 - Level 12

Small Healing Potion Get Brown Kelp, make potions with it and sell it. Because they only use one ingredient each, the 10% healing potions are half the effort to make but still give similar amounts of experience as later potions.

These require 0 Forager to gather yourself, and you can make starter cash as profit.

4.2.

Level 12 - Level 23

Small Fear Potion This potion's ingredients can be gathered in Hopeforest at only level 2 Gathering for a small profit, but will take a lot longer to do without the Storage Rift spell as you will need to teleport between Hopeforest and Hopeport. You can otherwise buy them quite cheaply for a small loss.

4.3.

Level 20 - 35

Knowledge Point EXP These are some of the worst early levels for Alchemist training. Sparing any Knowledge Points you can to boost training, or doing passive training, will help you get to the level 35 threshold where it speeds up again.

4.4.

Level 23 - 35

Stonemaw After buying the ingredients and selling the potion, the Stonemaw Hill EXP pot costs only 48 each. This makes it the most effective potion to train with all the way to 35.

The ingredients for the potion are gathered using the Stonemaw Hill profession, Delver. Until Episode 5 releases the only source will be from the Reagent Vendor.

4.5.

Level 35 - 50

Potent Health Potion Your first potent potion, this potion costs only 789 to make, and sells for 1 680 - taking home just under a silver profit every potion. These are even cheaper to make than buying 20% Healing Potions, so you could instead bank them and use them for combat as well.

Unless you have the high gathering skills required for other potions, make these all the way to 55 for Brannof Inheritance. The next profitable potion to buy and make is at Level 62, if you want to keep going as well.
