Enchanting Tools in Brighter Shores

In the Hopeport region of Brighter Shores, you will find the Enchantress, an NPC who can upgrade your tools by increasing their enchantment level. Each level gives your tools a boost, granting extra experience when you use them. Keep in mind, though, the cost goes up with every enchantment level, so you will need to plan your upgrades wisely. You do, however, keep your enchantment level when you upgrade a tool from Tier 1 to Tier 2.

Enchanting Guideline

Enchanting gets more expensive and the bonus from each level gets gradually smaller as you hit certain thresholds. As such, the ideal zone is around 25 where it will cost only 17 857 for a full 10% experience bonus per tool. For comparison, an additional 2% bonus will take 10 more levels and cost 25 100 from there. Going beyond this is only useful if you have a lot of gold, or if you're racing a leaderboard in a specific profession. A full EXP table can be found below.

It's also worth noting that because you only get the bonus when the tool is used in the profession, you should enchant the most used or 'best' tool per profession first. For example with Fisher, the Fishing Spear is used at 5 fishing locations and the Cast Net is only used at 2.

This consideration should be applied to active vs passive as well. Some tools are used during passive activities or ventures only. Because active experience rates are up to 30 times faster than passive, unless you're doing a profession completely passively it would be best to enchant active tools first.
