Full Guide to the Forager Profession in Brighter Shores
Welcome to our guide for the Forager Profession! This page will provide you with any relavent information on the Profession including the best ways to level it and any items or quests related to it.
Forager Introduction
The Forager Profession allows players to forage for a variety of resources found all over the Hopeport region. You'll use these resources for cooking in the Chef profession, for potions with the Alchemist profession, or rebuilding the Fallen Monument - and be paid while doing so.
Forager is unique in that many of the nodes are close together. This means there is far less downtime for levelling, and makes it one of the fastest and comfiest ways to generate Knowledge Points in the game.
Locations & Map
This Hopeport Forager Map shows the location of all Forager nodes, the location of The Forager's Warehouse and Food / Alchemist Ingredients Banks, and where all Storage Stones in Hopeport are. Each type of resource is color-coded, and there is an information paragraph that points towards the most efficient routes for foraging and their timings.
Getting Started
To start foraging, you can head down to East Beach and continue gathering Kelp you recieved in the tutorial. As you level up, you will unlock new nodes but will need to purchase more tools from The Forager's Warehouse to forage them.
Node Type | Tool | Locations | Bank / Usage |
---|---|---|---|
Kelp | None | East Beach, Jellyfish Landing | Alchemy |
Wallplant | Secateurs | Old Street West, Old Street East | Alchemy |
Periwinkle | None | Brannof Boulevard | Alchemy |
Shell | Trowel | East Beach, Seashells Seashore | Alchemy |
Potato | Trowel | Fallen Monument, Overgrown Field | Chef |
Pond Weed | Pond Net | Overgrown Pond | Alchemy |
Bellplant | Secateurs | Overgrown Field, Rubble Road | Alchemy |
Monument Piece | None | Crater, Wasteland | Monument |
Water Lily | Pond Net | Rubble Road, Overgrown Road | Alchemy |
Starfish | None | Jellyfish Landing, Starfish Point | Alchemy |
Limpet | None | Ray Bay, Pirate Hideout | Alchemy |
Wrack | None | Starfish Point, Pirate Hideout | Alchemy |
While higher level nodes give more experience, due to the way that the nodes are laid out it is often best to forage quantity over higher levels. The below route is an example route you can do at level 18 for the highest amount of EXP/h, even while banking. It does require the Spider's Nest to be completed to allow banking at the rift stone.
Passive Activities
Beginning at level 20, passive Forager nodes become available to use, so that you can train the skill while the game is closed. They do not require any reagents to harvest, except baskets / buckets / jars - purchasable from The Forager's Warehouse. You will need to invest a Knowledge Point into the skill to unlock each one, and the Rock Pool nodes do require a Pond Net, however.
Gathered resources can be either used as bait for passive fishing, passive cooking, or in the creation of passive potions in Alchemy. They all can be also sold to their respective store for some silver profit. Scrap Metal's only use is to be sold at the Scrapyard.
Banks, Shops, and Tool Upgrades
There is no specific Forager bank - but you will store items in their respective banks. Alchemy ingredients and can be stored inside the Apothocary, and Chef ingredients can be stored inside the Delectable Dab Kitchen - both of which are found right off of Stone Street. When banking it is often faster to use the Hopeport teleport rather than run back.
When you gain access to Storage Rifts in an Episode 2 quest , you unlock a very powerful Rift Stone just north of East Beach which allows you to deposit directly to the banks from there. Almost all of Forager's nodes benefit from this stone, and you can use it to run routes that give fast EXP, KP, all the while still banking instead of dropping.
Tools and upgrades to tools periodically become available from The Forager's Warehouse, found on Old Street East, and it is ideal to purchase them as soon as you can use them.

The Fallen Monument
On the western side of Hopeport you will find the Fallen Monument. Here you can forage for broken pieces of the monument, found just to the north, and turn them in to Parnell at the top of the Monument who will give you coins for doing so. When you complete all of his turn ins, he will complete that stage of the monument. When this happens, you will not be able to turn that specific item in any more, and you'll need to sell any further pieces to The Seaside Rock Shop on Sea Road (Albeit for a lower price).
The final stage of the Monument requires level 490 Forager to complete, and there is currently no reward for doing so other than the money earned.

Efficient Routing
Forager is unique among all the resource skills in Brighter Shores in that you are encouraged to combine groups of nodes in routes to reduce running time and banking times, while increasing EXP gains. Each room can have multiple different forage nodes, as well as other rooms can be close by.
