27th Nov Patch Notes: Leaderboards Compare Feature, Auto Switch Weapon, and More!

Brighter Shores just received another update, and with it a new round of patch notes, bringing improvements to the recently introduced Leaderboards and much more. From bug fixes to quality-of-life changes, here is everything you need to know about what is new!

As always, Andrew Gower shared the patch details on his X/Twitter account and Steam page:

Leaderboard Improvements

  • New “Compare” tab, which lets you compare your scores with any other player in the leaderboards.
  • New outer “Friends Rank” tab, which shows how you rank compared to your friends in each profession.
  • Fixed inner “Friends Rank” tab to sort by rank correctly.

To use the leaderboards, you must first choose to opt-in. This can be done in the privacy settings section of the settings interface. To view your rank, click on the ‘community’ interface (the same location where your friends list is displayed).

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Characters will automatically switch from ranged weapon to melee weapon when running out of ammo.
  • Improve melee combat routing, so your character more reliably moves adjacent to your opponent.
  • Stop Head Chef from wandering around (this was in the previous update but was not mentioned).
  • Hermar’s Homeware in Cobble Corner has been rearranged to allow more time to spot thieves operating in the area.

Music

  • Crenopolis has a new (additional) piece of music.

Graphics

  • Improved the animation when you apply the final reward from the quest ‘The Brannof Inheritance’.

Bug Fixes

  • Removed an elevated tile the goblin chiefs could become trapped on during combat (this was in the previous update but was not mentioned).
  • Fixed small monument piece outline and shadow.
  • Show the quest completed tick at the correct point for the quest ‘The Brannof Inheritance’.
  • Fixed error when Anjay leaves the training ground during the quest ‘The Obelisk’.
  • Fixed a bug causing some people to not be able to complete the final step of the Spirit Essence quest.
  • Fixed a bug in the ‘Lost and Found’ quest where you could place items in the podiums without investigating them first, causing some people to get into a confusing state.
  • Fixed a bug where an amethyst was visible before it was meant to be.
  • The child on Tanners Road now actually says something when you try to talk to her.
  • Sturdy Basalt and Andesite no longer have card descriptions intended for Sturdy Flint.
  • Fixed a bug in the ‘Battle of Fortunehold’ quest, whereby you could refill a crate while part way through pushing it, causing the original push action to suddenly stop.
  • Fixed incorrect adjective when slicing lobsters.
  • Fixed a bug where selling individual items left the incorrect items ticked on the sell all interface.
  • Fixed a bug which could occasionally leave players stuck inside a ship.
  • Fixed various typos.
