In the last couple of days, Brighter Shores has received various new patches containing important rules updates, quality of life improvements, balancing and bug fixes, and more!
Three new patches have been deployed on the 12th, 13th, and 14th November 2024. They all include various bugs and balancing fixes, as well as audio improvements, and quality-of-life additions!
Here is a recap of these patch notes and everything that was changed or added the last 3 days, as stated by Andrew Gower:
Important Rules Update:
The rules to make use of ‘multi-boxing’ (logging into multiple accounts simultaneously) have been modified, and it is now against the rules!
Audio
Adjusted default music volumes slightly.
Balancing Fixes
- If upgrading/enchanting your profession equipment results in you getting a fractional XP increase, (for example it results in say 124.5 XP) you will now get that fraction.
- Make combat rooms a little less crowded. (1 less player allowed at once).
- Make spear fishing rooms a lot less crowded, (max 10 players, instead of max 20 players).
- Deplete spottable thieves (detective) upon login, so you cannot gain an advantage by server hopping.
Quality of Life Improvements
- As requested by so many players… ‘single click actions’ are now a thing! If you wish to enable this then:
- open the settings.
- go to the controls section and press ‘open’.
- open the drop down next to ‘do first action’.
- choose “left click”.
This causes left clicking something in the 3d view to do the default action, and right clicking it still opens the full menu.
- You can now also rotate the camera by dragging with the middle mouse button.
- You can now reassign what each mouse button does (in settings – controls).
- The active foraging block album cards now list which profession equipment is required to forage them. This still needs adding in more places too.
- If you have (unwisely!) deleted your entire account, you can now choose to create a new account.
- The map now lets you click up to TWO rooms away.
- Added a quit button to the title screen.
- Combat keybinds can now also be used to choose your initial attack on the “Prepare for battle” interface.
- A lot more interfaces can now be closed by clicking outside of them.
- Make the first action for cast net fishing ‘solo’ instead of ‘co-op’.
- Add option (in settings – graphics) to control if the camera centers on the player or the room.
- Add option (in settings – graphics) to disable the camera zoom in which occurs whilst doing an activity.
- Make more interfaces respond properly to the escape key.
- Make more interfaces possible to close by clicking outside.
- Improve keybinds handling. “CTRL+letter” keybinds are now shown on the controls interface and are properly reconfigurable.
