The Brighter Shores community has been eagerly sharing ideas on what could make the game more enjoyable and user-friendly. To that end, players across platforms like Reddit, Steam, Discord, and X/Twitter have compiled a list of the most-requested Quality of Life (QoL) features they would love to see implemented. Here is what they are asking for!
Steam user jfb shared an excellent summary of these requests we mentioned above, which includes everything from inventory improvements to gameplay tweaks:
- Inventory Management:
- Withdraw/Deposit options like 1/12/Max or 1/6/12 for faster organization.
- Potions should have their own slots instead of taking up valuable inventory space.
- A “Deposit All” button for storage rifts.
- Gameplay Convenience:
- Automatically switch to melee weapons when you run out of ammo.
- Allow XP potions to be used during combat.
- Add a logout button during passive activities.
- Interface Upgrades:
- Combine the Toolbelt and Backpack screens to view potions, tools, and gold in one place.
- Add a zone-specific chat for better social interaction.
- Display character names above our heads at all times.
- Show the ingredient list directly on collected recipe cards—no more recipe books!
- Visual and Functional Enhancements:
- Visible weapons on character models for added immersion.
- More dramatic effects when leveling up—think fireworks or confetti!
- Add a search bar to the map for quicker navigation.
- A helmet toggle option in the armory.
- Social and MMO Improvements:
- Make “Trade” the default left-click option for NPCs instead of “Talk.”
- Display faction, total level, and last online time on the friends list.
- Reduce chat censorship for smoother conversations.
- Set privacy settings to “visible to everyone” by default—it’s an MMO after all!
- Miscellaneous Changes:
- Shorten 24-hour ventures to 21 hours to keep the start time consistent daily.
- Add a master volume slider in Audio settings.
- Turn popups into “toast” notifications so they don’t disrupt gameplay.
The goal of these suggestions is to make Brighter Shores an even smoother, more immersive, and player-friendly experience for veterans and newcomers alike!
Which of these features would you love to see in the next update? Or is there another QoL change you would like to add to the list?
