Cataclysm Classic Blacksmithing Profession and Leveling Guide

Blacksmithing is typically used by Plate armor wearers and those who utilize Physical DPS weapons, as the gear you can craft with Blacksmithing is very strong and some of the items you are able to make will be instantly Soulbound to the crafter. Miningis a great complement to Blacksmithing, as having Mining will allow you to farm the vast majority of materials you will need to both train and utilize Blacksmithing for crafted items in the endgame. Due to the amount of bars used to craft items near max skill level, it can get extremely costly very quickly; having mining greatly mitigates this cost.

With the introduction of Firelands in Phaes 3 of Cataclysm comes a ton of new crafting patterns that drop from allofthemobs inside the raid.
