Blackwing Descent Raid Guides for Cataclysm Classic
Blackwing Descent is one of the two "main" raids of phase one in Cataclysm. Here you will face off against the twisted experiments of the revived Nefarian in a sprawling underground labyrinth filled with mechanical monstrosities and corrupted dragonkin.
Getting into Blackwing Descent in Cataclysm
Blackwing Descent can be found in the Blackrock Mountain, located in both Searing Gorge and Burning Steppes. Fly to the Eastern side of the mountain to the highest peaks and you will find a platform with the raids entrance.
Blackwing Descent Layout
The first part of Blackwing Descent contains both Magmaw and Omnotron Defense System, which can be fought in either order.
After traveling down the elevator, you'll find yourself in a circle arena area. This section of the instance contains the bosses Maloriak, Atramedes, Chimaeron, and Nefarian. Before facing Nefarian, you must defeat all previous bosses.
Blackwing Descent Boss Strategies
Blackwing Descent is a non-linear raid, allowing you to defeat all of the bosses except Nefarian in any order you desire. To be able to engage Nefarian, you must clear all 5 of the previous bosses before-hand.
