Cataclysm Classic Cooking Profession and Leveling Guide

Cooking is one of the four secondary professions available to all players in Cataclysm Classic. As it is a secondary profession, it can be learned by all players without conflicting with other professions. Cooking can be useful early on to provide yourself with free food while leveling.

Cooking goes great when paired together with Fishing as you can use most of the fish you catch to level your cooking at the same time, leveling two professions for free at once.

In Cataclysm, you no longer need to visit different trainers to learn new ranks of Cooking. Every trainer will now be able to each you all ranks in any major city.

Cataclysm also adds profession trainers in each starting zone, allowing you to pick up a profession right away rather than needing to reach a major city first.

Cataclysm brings 15 new Cooking daily quests for each faction. Each day you will be offered one quest from each of the quest givers in your faction specific major cities. You however can only complete 1 of these in total, simply choose the best one out of your 3 options. These quests reward you with Chef's Award upon completion, which are needed to purchase end-game cooking recipes.
