On this page, you will learn how to optimize the rotation of your Feral Druid DPS in both single-target and multi-target PvE situations in Cataclysm Classic. We also have advanced sections about cooldowns, procs, etc. in order to minmax your DPS.

1.

Feral DPS Druid Rotations

If you have not already, we recommend going through the Spell Summary guide first. Knowing how each spell and ability works in detail will greatly increase your understanding of the rotation suggestions below.

1.1.

Single-Target Rotation

Make sure to keep yourself buffed with Mark of the Wild Icon Mark of the Wild and debuff enemies with Faerie Fire (Feral) Icon Faerie Fire (Feral) when pulling.

  1. Use Tiger's Fury Icon Tiger's Fury when available while you are under 40 Energy;
  2. If Berserk Icon Berserk is available and 15 or more seconds remain on Tiger's Fury Icon Tiger's Fury's cooldown, auto-attack until ~90 Energy and use Berserk;
  3. Keep Mangle Icon Mangle's debuff on your target if you are the source of the bleed debuff;
  4. Use and refresh (after it expires) Rip Icon Rip at 5 Combo Points;
  5. Use and refresh (after it expires) Savage Roar Icon Savage Roar;
  6. Use and refresh (after it expires) Rake Icon Rake;
  7. Feral Charge Icon Feral Charge on cooldown and use the free Ravage Icon Ravage you get from Stampede Icon Stampede;
  8. Use Shred Icon Shred (or Mangle Icon Mangle if you cannot attack from behind the target) to build Combo Points.

You should also use Ferocious Bite Icon Ferocious Bite to spend Combo Points instead of Rip Icon Rip if the target is at 25% health or under, as Blood in the Water Icon Blood in the Water will refresh your Rip automatically in that case.

1.2.

AoE Rotation

Your rotation remains mostly the same, but you will want to drop single-target attacks to focus more of your limited Energy on area attacks.

  1. Use Tiger's Fury Icon Tiger's Fury when available while you are under 40 Energy;
  2. If Berserk Icon Berserk is available and 15 or more seconds remain on Tiger's Fury Icon Tiger's Fury's cooldown, auto-attack until ~90 Energy and use Berserk;
  3. Use Swipe Icon Swipe.
2.

Cooldowns

Use your offensive cooldown Berserk Icon Berserk when at high energy to maximize the amount of abilities you can use during its effect.

Use your defensive cooldowns Barkskin Icon Barkskin, Frenzied Regeneration Icon Frenzied Regeneration, and Survival Instincts Icon Survival Instincts whenever you drop low or are facing heavy damage. Most of the time it will be enough to use a single one of these, but for extra dangerous situations you, will want to use multiple of them at once.

Remember to use your utility abilities as well:

  • Rebirth Icon Rebirth to combat ress anyone who dies;
  • Innervate Icon Innervate to help allies recover Mana during DPS downtime;
  • Stampeding Roar Icon Stampeding Roar to increase movement speed during heavy movement mechanics;
  • Skull Bash Icon Skull Bash to help interrupt critical casts if no one else can do it.
