On this page, you will find out the optimal PvE stat priority for your Feral Druid DPS in Cataclysm Classic. We first present the stat priority, before delving into more complex explanations.

1.

Stat Priority for Feral DPS Druid

The stat priority for Feral DPSFeral DPS Druid is as follows:

  1. Agility
  2. Mastery
  3. Critical Strike
  4. Hit (8% cap)
  5. Expertise (26 Cap)
  6. Haste
1.1.

Agility

Agility is the primary stat you should be focusing on for increasing your damage. Because of how items are configured in Cataclysm, you will naturally gain Agility as you equip higher item level gear.

At Level 85:

  • 1 Agility = 2 Attack Power before multipliers
1.2.

Mastery

The Mastery stat was introduced in Cataclysm, and for Feral DPS Druid Razor Claws Icon Razor Claws increases your Bleed damage. As much of your damage comes from various bleeds, this is a good DPS stat, but all Feral Druid secondary stats are close enough together that the difference between Mastery DPS value and the other stats is minor.

At Level 85:

  • 179.28 Mastery Rating = 1 Mastery = 3.1% more bleed damage
1.3.

Critical Strike

Critical Strikes deal double damage, increasing your damage significantly, and also add extra combo points through Primal Fury Icon Primal Fury. Unfortunately, increasing your critical strike chance by 1% requires a huge amount of rating, lowering its overall effectiveness.

At Level 85:

  • 179.19 Critical Strike Rating = 1% Critical Strike
1.4.

Expertise

Expertise reduces the chance that the target will Dodge or Parry (when attacking from the front) which increases your damage and reduces burst damage taken from enemy parry hasting. 26 Expertise is enough to reduce most enemies' 6.5% dodge chance to 0, making Expertise only useful against parries from that point, and thus have next to no value in group content.

At Level 85:

  • 120.1 Expertise Rating = 1% less chance for enemies to Dodge or Parry
1.5.

Hit

Hit rating reduces miss chance, making your abilities hit more often. While usually an extremely powerful stat for DPS, most of the damage caused by Feral Druids is done by energy abilities which have most of their energy refunded when they fail to hit, lowering the value of Hit drastically for Feral.

At Level 85:

  • 120.1 Hit Rating = 1% Hit Chance
1.6.

Haste Rating

Haste rating is the lowest stat for DPSing, but still decent enough that it is not very far behind the rest. It will mostly increase your auto-attack damage over time.

At Level 85:

  • 128.05 Haste Rating = 1% Haste
