Cataclysm Classic Holy Paladin Enchants and Consumables

Cataclysm is a relatively straight forward expansion when it comes to Enchants Gems and Consumables, but each of them is extremely important to maximizing your healing out put and survivability in any situation; this is especially true in Raids and Dungeons. Below is a list of the optimal consumables and enchants to help you get the most out of your Holy.

As a Holy Paladin our default Meta gem will be Ember Shadowspirit Diamond, the added Intellect is a great increase to our healing ouput but more importantly the added 2% Maximum Mana interacts with our Divine Plea ability making it an even more powerful return.

Our focus while gearing as a Holy Paladin is largley to get as much Intellect as possible and we will focus on that, if a socket bonus does not offer at least 10 Intellect or 20 Spirit/Haste it is better to fill the socket with another Brilliant Inferno Ruby.

• In Red Sockets, Brilliant Inferno Ruby
• In Blue Sockets, Purified Demonseye if the socket bonus is 10 Intellect or 20 Spirit/Haste, otherwise Brilliant Inferno Ruby.
• In Yellow Sockets, Reckless Ember Topaz if the socket bonus is 10 Intellect or 20 Spirit/Haste, otherwise Brilliant Inferno Ruby.

Similar to Gems, the goal with your food buff is maximizing your Intellect. you have three options that all grant the same amount of bonus Agility.

• Severed Sagefish Head
• Fortune Cookie
• Seafood Magnifique Feast

As a Holy Paladin we will use Flask of the Draconic Mind for the added Intellect.

When it comes to what mana potion you should be using it will depend largely on the encounter, Mythical Mana Potion will be the default choice in most encounters but if you find yourself in a situation where you can spend ten seconds uninterrupted feel free to use Potion of Concentration which yields a greater return but you will not be able to act during its duration. Also consider using a Volcanic Potion to pre-pot for some bonus healing for the first twenty five seconds of a pull.

While you will not have much time to cast them and any kind of damage taken will interrupt their healing Dense Embersilk Bandage can be the difference between surviving or dying so it is a great mana-free way to heal yourself in an emergency.
