Cataclysm Classic Holy Paladin Stat Priority

The stat priority for Holy Paladin is as follows:

1. Intellect
2. Spirit
3. Haste Rating
4. Critical Strike Rating
5. Mastery Rating

Intellect is the primary stat you will be focusing on as a Holy Paladin as it is the only way to increase your Spell Power which is what your heals scale off of. Intellect also increases your maximum Mana allowing you to cast more Heals over the course of a fight and making your Divine Plea cooldown even more effective. Each point of Intellect will grant you 1 Spell Power. Your Intellect also scales with buffs like Blessing of Kings which makes the stat even more valuable, and as a Paladin you will always have access to the Blessing.

• 650 Intellect = 1% Critical Strike
• 1 Intellect = 17.5 Mana

Spirit acts as our second highest priority stat as it has replaced MP5 as our means of mana-regeneration. Spirit will be found exclusively on Healer gear and while you will rarely have to pick between Spirit and another secondary stat you should focus on getting as much Spirit as possible as it will enable you to cast some of your more expensive, higher throughput healing abilities like Holy Radiance and Divine Light. Judgements of the Pure also increases your Mana Regeneration from Spirit while in combat by 30%. Like Intellect, Spirit also scales off of Blessing of Kings making it even more valuable per point. If you are a Human the racial The Human Spirit also directly scales with your Spirit Rating.

Haste rating is a great stat as a Holy Paladin as it makes your casts quicker allowing you to get more heals out in a shorter period of time. Haste also scales incredibly with your Judgements of the Pure and Speed of Light talents. Holy Radiance also scales off of your Haste rating, for every breakpoint of Haste added your Holy Radiance will add another tick of healing. While the amount of Haste required to add these bonus ticks can be difficult to achieve especially early in the gearing process it is something to consider when deciding what items to use or how to reforge. The amount of Haste past the fifth tick break point will be very difficult to achieve without cooldowns such as Bloodlust or Divine Favor so highlighted below are the most realistic breakpoints to obtain.

At Level 85:

• 128.05 Haste Rating = 1% Haste
• With 3 points in Speed of Light and Judgements of the Pure active, 496 Haste Rating = fourth tick
• With 3 points in Speed of Light and Judgements of the Pure active, 4308 Haste Rating = fifth tick

Mastery is the new stat added in during Cataclysm and provides a different, unique benefit for every single specialization in the game. For Holy Paladins, Mastery gives Illuminated Healing, which causes your direct healing abilities to give the target an absorb shield that scales directly with the amount of Mastery you have. Mastery is a great addition to the healing toolkit but it is important to know the shielding portion of Mastery does not effect your Beacon of Light healing recipient.

At Level 85:

• 179.28 Mastery Rating = 1% Mastery

Critical Strike Rating causes your heals to do double healing, while Haste is our best secondary stat Critical Strike is close especially as it pairs incredibly with our talents like Infusion of Light. Reforge this stat into a higher priority stat like Haste or Spirit.

At Level 85:
