Cataclysm Classic Inscription Profession and Leveling Guide

Inscription is a very well-rounded and useful profession that turns herbs into pigments with its unique Milling ability, which are then used to craft items that provide benefits in many areas of the game, namely glyphs that enhance various abilities.

In Cataclysm, you no longer need to visit different trainers to learn new ranks of Inscription. Every trainer will now be able to each you all ranks in any major city.

When you learn Inscription you gain the ability Milling. You can use this to break down 5 herbs into 2-4 pigments depending on the herbs used. These pigments can be turned into inks, which are needed to craft everything in Inscription. You can use any of the herbs listed to get the associated pigment, mixing and matching if needed depending on auction house prices.

If you do not mind leveling the last few levels of Inscription slowly, you can craft Forged Documents from level 510-525. You can only craft 1 Forged Documents a day, making this will take you 15 days total, but is much cheaper compared to other leveling choices.

Inscription offers unique shoulder enchants that are better than the regular enchants players can get.
