  • You will need to dispel Blackout Icon Blackout on players, but be sure to only dispel it after they group; doing it early will kill them and any other nearby players.
  • The ebst time to use your raid-wide defensive cooldowns is while soaking either Blackout Icon Blackouts or Twilight Meteorite Icon Twilight Meteorites.

Tank Tips

  • Be mindful of the tanks Twilight Shift Icon Twilight Shift stacks and be ready to pick up the boss when the other tank is ported to the Twilight Realm.

Strategy for Valiona and Theralion

For this fight you will be engaging both Valiona and Theralion at the same time. They share health pools, so any damage you deal to one will affect the other as well. One dragon will always be on the ground, while the other will always fly around in the air; periodically throughout the fight they will alternate between being airborne and fighting on the ground. At the start of the fight Valiona will always be grounded while Theralion will take off into the air.

Twilight Realm Players hit by either Dazzling Destruction Icon Dazzling Destruction or Deep Breath Icon Deep Breath will be sent to the Twilight Realm. Here you will need to dodge floating orbs that explode with Unstable Twilight Icon Unstable Twilight if touched, while making your way to the nearby portal to return to the normal realm. On heroic difficulty Twilight Sentrys will spawn periodically inside the Twilight Realm and cast Rift Blast Icon Rift Blast on a random target. You must intentionally send a healer and a few DPS into the Twilight Realm throughout the fight to clear these adds out to reduce the raid damage taken. While inside the Twilight Realm you will take stacks of Twilight Zone Icon Twilight Zone, dealing Shadow damage over time and increasing all Shadow damage taken by 10% per stack; classes such as RogueRogue or MageMage are ideal to send into the Twilight Realm as they can clear their stacks with Cloak of Shadows Icon Cloak of Shadows or Ice Block Icon Ice Block.

On heroic difficulty while either dragon is on the ground tanks will need to be mindful their stacks of Twilight Shift Icon Twilight Shift, which will be periodically applied to the current tank. When the tank gets a fifth stack of Twilight Shift Icon Twilight Shift, they will cast Shifting Reality Icon Shifting Reality, damaging all nearby players and sending them into the Twilight Zone. Tanks should be standing near no one else, and anyone assigned to entering the Twilight Zone should move next to the tank when they have four stacks of Twilight Shift Icon Twilight Shift.

Valiona and Theralion Strategy While Valiona is on the ground you will need to spread out to prevent Theralions Twilight Blast Icon Twilight Blast from hitting multiple players. Also be aware of your feet, keeping an eye out for the Dazzling Destruction Icon Dazzling Destruction, the purple swirling ground effects that Theralion will throw at random locations. All of this damage can, and should, be avoided easily. Valiona herself will place a Blackout Icon Blackout debuff on a random player. The debuffed player must stack with the rest of the raid and get dispelled only after reaching the group as dispelling Blackout Icon Blackout deals 975,000 to 1,025,000 Shadow damage, but this damage will be split between all nearby players. Classes like RogueRogue or MageMage can simply run away from everyone and use immunity spells such as Cloak of Shadows Icon Cloak of Shadows or Ice Block Icon Ice Block to harmlessly remove the Blackout Icon Blackout.

Valiona and Theralion Strategy Valiona will also periodically use Devouring Flames Icon Devouring Flames, facing a random direction and spraying Shadow flames 180 degrees in that direction. The damage of Devouring Flames Icon Devouring Flames is reduced the farther away from Valiona you are; if you are near Valiona simply run behind her, if you are far away and she is facing you, run as far away from her as you possibly can.

Valiona and Theralion Strategy While Theralion is on the ground you will want your ranged DPS and healers to stack together. Keep an eye out for the Engulfing Magic Icon Engulfing Magic debuff and move at least 10 yards away from others as you will deal AoE damage to all nearby allies, aside from yourself, with this debuff. Theralion will also use Fabulous Flames Icon Fabulous Flames, spawning a large patch of fire on the ground at the feet of a random range player. Simply move out of these as a group, trying to place these patches of fire as near each other as possible to keep as much of the room clear of fire as possible. If you do not move away from this patch of fire quick enough, you will get pulled into the Twilight Realm.

Valiona will cast Twilight Meteorite Icon Twilight Meteorite on a random player, dealing damage to the target and all nearby allies, splitting the damage evenly amongst all targets hit. If you get targeted by this, simply run to the melee group to split the damage; if your group is low on melee DPS, have a healer or two stand with the melee.

Valiona and Theralion Strategy When Valiona is landing soon, she will will do a Deep Breath Icon Deep Breath attack, covering 1/3 of the room in Twilight Flames. Anyone hit by this breath will be transported to the Twilight Realm, and anyone that's already in the Twilight Realm and is hit by this will die. Track Valionas position and always move out of her path to avoid this spell. After doing three Deep Breath Icon Deep Breaths Valiona will land and Theralion will fly into the air, repeating the fight like this until they die or until they enrage after ten minutes.
