Andariel Run Farming Guide in Diablo 2
Andariel is the final boss of Act Once, and defeating her is required to progress to Act Two.
In this guide we will cover what an Andariel Run is, what the requirements are, what loot you can expect to receive, and how to best defeat Andariel.
What Is an Andariel run?
An Andariel run is a kill of Act 1 Boss Andariel found in the Catacombs Level 4. Andariel is a very easy boss to kill for magic finding, and if you know how to quest glitch her, she drops a lot of good items that you will need for quite a few end-game builds! Before we get into how to quest glitch her, let us cover some of Andariel's statistics.
Andariel's Level and Health
Difficulty | Level | Health |
---|---|---|
Normal | 12 | 1024 |
Nightmare | 49 | 24800 |
Hell | 75 | 60031 |
Andariel's Resistances
Difficulty | Fire Resist | Cold Resist | Poison Resist | Light Resist | Magical Resist | Physical Resist |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Normal | -50% | 50% | 80% | 50% | 0% | 0% |
Nightmare | -50% | 50% | 50% | 50% | 0% | 0% |
Hell | -50% | 50% | 80% | 50% | 0% | 0% |
Taking a look at her level in Hell, you can see it is 75, which opens up the door for a lot of great Item drops. Also from above, you can note that Andariel is very weak to Fire, Physical, and Magical ( Blessed Hammer, Bone Spear, etc.) Damage. As for the other resistances, they are still quite low so most characters can cut through her pretty easily!
Where Is Andariel Located?
Andariel is located in the Catacombs Level 4 at the end of Act 1. The fastest way to get there is to use Catacombs Level 2 Waypoint and Teleport or Run straight towards her, although it is not a bad idea to stop and open some of the chests on the way to her if you are in Hell difficulty. The fastest way to get to Catacombs level 4 from the Waypoint is to move counter-clockwise to easily find the stairs to the Catacombs Level 3. From the door of Level 3 it is random so pick a direction and start moving!
Can I Do an Andariel Run?
The best way to test if you are undergeared/underleveled for this is to try doing a run for yourself. While her Poison attacks can do a lot of Damage, they can be pretty easily avoided and you can always carry some Antidote Potions to stop the Damage. Ideally, though, you just want to make sure you have high enough poison resistance to tank a hit or two from her and then you can just dodge around and kite her to death. If she takes more than 30 seconds to a minute to kill, we would recommend just farming Nightmare Andariel
What Does Andariel Drop? How do I Quest Glitch Andariel?
The best part about farming Andariel is that she can drop a lot of various items that can help you get to the next level. Whether you need some set pieces or good jewelry to move forward to Hell difficulty farming, Andariel most likely has it and she is a lot easier to kill than the other bosses! Also, because of the Quest Drop Glitch she drops even better Loot so it makes farming her even more productive.
How to Quest Glitch Andariel?
- Create a game with the character who needs the Andariel quest done.
- Proceed to kill Andariel.
- After Andariel dies, use a Town Portal or her automatic Town Portal to go home.
- DO NOT QUIT THE GAME.
- Talk to Warriv.
- Travel East.
- When you arrive in Act 2, she is bugged and you can now leave the game whenever you would like.
- Now your Andariel (in that difficulty mode) is quest drop bugged!

Tips for Killing Andariel
The best practice is, before you go for the run, stock up on about 3-5 Antidote potions, and chug 1-2 when you get to The Catacombs level 4. This will give you more poison resistances for 30 seconds per potion. If you chug 5 at once, you will gain +50% Poison Resistance and +10% to Max Poison Resist for 150 seconds.
Put up a Town Portal right as you get into The Catacombs level 4, That way if you die you have a quick way to get back. If you do not have teleport, I would clear the Chamber before opening the big double doors. Once you do that, you can move on to killing Andariel. Andariel is very weak to fire, so fire skills or fire damage from melee will help a lot here. If you don't have Fire Damage, your other Attacks should still be able to bring her down but just a little bit slower. You can also use cold abilities or cold damage to slow her attacks down. Rinse and repeat hundreds of times and hopefully you'll find a ton of items!
