Enchantress Follower Skills and Gearing Guide (Updated for Patch 2.7.5 and Season 28)
The Enchantress is one of the three followers in Diablo 3, and offers valuable cooldown reduction and attack speed boons. Follower optimization has grown crucially important since the companion rework in Patch 2.7, and they are now a vital part of your solo Greater Rift Pushing attempts and Nephalem Rift speed farming.
Enchantress Overview
The Enchantress is the most versatile of the bunch, offering a balance between utility and damage buffs, and offering some excellent speed farming potential when she is fully optimized. Take the Enchantress to GR progression if you are chasing cooldown reduction or attack speed breakpoints, as she makes both tasks easier, or if you want to have a thoroughly utility-driven character when farming GRs or keystones.
Enchantress Skills
The recommended abilities for the Enchantress are:
- Level 15:
Temporal Pulse — Take this skill for an AoE, Intelligence-scaling duration slow on a very short cooldown that offers an easy proc for bonuses like
Bane of the Trapped.
- Level 20:
Prophetic Harmony — one of the highlights in the Enchantress arsenal, this ability offers a scaling cooldown reduction bonus to your character based on the Intelligence on her equipment.
- Level 25:
Powered Shield — a powerful passive shield that reduces incoming ranged damage, improves Armor and even throws a slow against melee attackers with an Int-scaling duration.
- Level 30:
Focused Mind — Another passive, constantly available effect (as long as you fit in the generous 40 yard radius) that increases attack speed based on the Enchantress' Intelligence stat.
Note that once optimized with survivability as well as Intelligence, the
Enchantress can be swapped to Hand of the Prophet to grant her access to
all abilities, expanding the arsenal of buffs with additional damage and further
snowballing your speed runs. This change however is only viable during speed
farming, where monsters die before they are able to inflict severe damage to
your Enchantress. Such a setup also requires that you level and equip your
Enchantress with
Esoteric Alteration and
Mutilation Guard, which
are defensive juggernauts and the only two legendary gems that work on
followers.
Enchantress Setup - Solo GR Pushing
The following setup reflects the best-in-slot item choices and gear rolls for
an Enchantress taken to Greater Rifts with the intent of pushing leaderboard.
Note the focus on pure Attack Speed with the inclusion of
Mempo of Twilight,
The Witching Hour and
Tal Rasha's Relentless Pursuit — all items with innate attack speed
rolls. Note that the Enchantress can not equip an off-hand item, so despite our
recommendation for a one-handed weapon, it cannot be paired with anything.

Enchantress - Solo GR Speed Farming
The following setup reflects the best-in-slot item choices and gear rolls for
an Enchantress taken to Greater Rifts with the intent of speed farming for
Paragon levels and legendary gem upgrades. Consider the focus on additional
experience and utility, most notably with the change of follower item from an
invulnerability legendary to an "all skills unlocked" one. To ensure your
Enchantress' survivability, you should socket her jewelry with
Esoteric Alteration and
Mutilation Guard, which are defensive
juggernauts and the only two legendary gems that work on followers. Note that
the Enchantress can not equip an off-hand item, so despite our recommendation
for a one-handed weapon, it cannot be paired with anything.

Enchantress - Standard Rift Keystone Farm and Bounties
The following setup reflects the best-in-slot item choices and gear rolls for
an Enchantress taken to Standard (T16) Rift farming for GR keystones and
Bounties. The most notable changes are the inclusion of the full bonuses of the
Sage's Death's Breath farming set and the Cain's extra GR keystones set (tied
with a Ring of Royal Grandeur on the Enchantress), whose set bonuses
emanate to your character. To ensure your Enchantress' survivability while using
Hand of the Prophet, you should socket her jewelry with
Esoteric Alteration and
Mutilation Guard, which are defensive
juggernauts and the only two legendary gems that work on followers. Note that
the Enchantress can not equip an off-hand item, so despite our recommendation
