Natalya Rain of Vengeance Demon Hunter Speed Farming Variation
On this page, we explain everything that is specific to the Speed Farming variant of Natalya Rain of Vengeance Demon Hunter. Updated for Patch 2.7.4 and Season 27.
This variation is no longer relevant in Patch 2.7.5.
Speed Farming
The Natalya Demon Hunter deals with regular Rift farming quite competently all the way through the highest Torments, making it a viable build for the task. What makes this variant attractive is the ability to run the Sage's set for additional Death's Breaths, increasing the rate of crafting material farming. We have solo speed GR rankings and solo speed T16 rankings if you want to know more about which builds are best for speed farming.
Within the limited scope of regular difficulties, the necessary damage and toughness to triumph over the enemy is significantly smaller. Thus, your best course of action is to improve utility and speed.

Adapting Rotation
When you are speed farming regular rifts, parts of your playstyle will adapt to the lowered challenge and focus more on speed and utility.
This speedfarming variant of the Natalya set plays quite differently from the progression build, with a ranged, wide AoE playstyle that fits excellently with the task. You will be casting Rain of Vengeance on cooldown, but only to attain the buff of the 6-piece bonus (although you also get minor utility from the freeze of the Flying Strike rune). The major part of the damage comes from Multishot Arsenal, arguably the best farming tool at the DH's disposal. You will support its hatred costs through active use of Companion Bat Companion, Preparation Punishment and Vengeance Seethe. Last but not least, traverse long distances with liberal spam of Vault Trail of Cinders.
Adapting Skills
Parts of the skill and passive selection will overlap with the base Greater Rift progression build, but others will have to change according to the task at hand. Ability to cross over great distances faster and more efficiently take precedence.
The main damage dealer of the build changes from the slow buildup and cooldown nature of Fan of Knives to the screen-wide clear of Multishot Arsenal. You will retain Rain of Vengeance as part of the Natalya set mechanics, but not as a main damage dealer; you can either opt for the freezing utility of Flying Strike, or simply go for the fire-and-forget runes like Shade and Dark Cloud.
Vengeance remains a universally desired part of the build, but instead of the safety of Dark Heart, you should swap into the resource powerhouse Seethe.
Your mobility tool will change from the emergency pop of Smoke Screen to the long-range movement of Vault Trail of Cinders.
Several passive swaps also differentiate this farming variant from the progression spec. Blood Vengeance will not only expand your Hatred pool, but also enables a Reaper's Wraps-like effect that replenishes both Hatred and Discipline when picking up health globes. Adding Ballistics will augment your main damage dealer, the rocket-based Arsenal, with a multiplicative damage bonus. Finally, Tactical Advantage will greatly increase your speed throughout the clear — an important aspect of a good farming build. Only Ambush remains from the lineup of progression passives, due to the comparable burst damage value it brings to farming builds.
Adapting Gear
In order to make use of both the 6-piece bonuses of Natalya and the 3-piece bonuses of Sage, you will need to move several set pieces around, as well as cube a Ring of Royal Grandeur. Most importantly, you will need to equip Natalya's Reflection, since all Sage pieces conflict with Natalya for the respective slots. An example split would be wearing Sage's Apogee and Sage's Passage, adding a Natalya's Reflection and devoting the remaining armor slots to Nat's pieces (chest, pants, gloves, weapon). Note that the build does not rely on Rain of Vengeance for damage, so only focus on skill damage on the helm and boots (which can roll Multishot %).
With the setup outlined above, it is impossible to include the progression jewelry set Focus and Restraint. For consistency and farming convenience, the remainder of your jewelry slots are best completed by an Avarice Band and a Squirt's Necklace for the added damage multiplication.
Since this is a Multishot-centric spec, your offhand needs to be Dead Man's Legacy.
The rest of your armor slots will be completed with speedfarm oriented items — Warzechian Armguards to speed up your clears with MS bonuses, Homing Pads to ensure smooth transitions between rifts, and Goldwrap for the synergy with Boon of the Hoarder.

To help you with farming the gear you need for your builds, we have two very useful guides that you can access by clicking the links below: a Salvage Guide to help you quickly check whether or not you can safely salvage a piece of gear and a Legendary Farming Guide to help you efficiently farm legendaries and set items.
Angelic Crucible Sanctification
Season 27 comes with the theme of Angelic Crucibles — consumable items that empower Legendary items with perfected Ancient-level stats, as well as infuse them with one of three unique, powerful, class-specific abilities at random. For this build, we recommend aiming for the Vengeance Sanctification, which adds the following power to your build:
- Vengeance Sanctification: Casting Vengeance unleashes a barrage of rockets that deal damage equal to a percentage of the maximum life enemies possess. The number of rockets fired increases over 30 seconds. Elites and Bosses receive less damage per rocket.
Use Angelic Crucibles on an item that crosses over most (if not all) variants of a build, and is also an item that is relatively harder to perfect than other slots (since sanctifying an item maximizes its stats). In the case of this build, a good candidate for Sanctification is Dead Man's Legacy.
You can read more on Angelic Crucibles and the sanctification process in our dedicated Angelic Crucible Mechanics guide.
Adapting Gems
To synergize with the far range and fast clear speed of Multishot, you will be socketing Zei's Stone of Vengeance and Bane of the Powerful in your first two gem slots. It is highly recommended that you complete your jewelry sockets with Boon of the Hoarder; this high-utility gem feeds you practically infinite gold and gives you a massive short-term speed boost while picking it up, automated by your Avarice Band. It will also render you practically invulnerable through a cubed Goldwrap.

Adapting Kanai's Cube
With Natalya's Slayer occupying your equipped weapon slot by necessity (keeping the set 6-piece bonus), you need to extract the power of Yang's Recurve in the weapon Cube slot. Its massive attack speed and damage bonuses to your main damage dealer are indispensable.
Cindercoat in the armor Cube slot will ensure your resource costs remain reasonable even in the most intense of fights — enough for your resource management skills to keep up.
As mentioned before, Ring of Royal Grandeur will be necessary in the jewelry Cube slot in order to tie the powers of the Natalya and Sage sets together.
The Kanai's Cube can be used for much more than simply extracting Legendary powers from items. Please refer to our Kanai's Cube guide for more information.
