How to Use the Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Set
The Masquerade of the Burning Carnival set is a dedicated Bone Spear and Simulacrum set, and makes the use of both a must in any Masquerade 6-piece setup. Masquerade set builds are remarkably free of Land of the Dead constraints, unlike most Necromancer builds; the playstyles it enables are relatively CDR and Attack Speed independent, with a reasonable benefit from Resource Cost Reduction inclusion. You can find notable synergistic items in the face of Maltorius' Petrified Spike and Haunted Visions.
- 2-piece bonus
- Simulacrums no longer take damage, gains all runes, and its cooldown is refreshed when you die.
- 4-piece bonus
- While you have a Simulacrum, damage is reduced by 50%. Damage you take is split with your Simulacrums as well.
- 6-piece bonus
- Your Bone Spear deals 10,000% increased damage. Simulacrums gain triple this bonus.
The 2-piece set bonus of Masquerade makes your Simulacrum summons invulnerable, nets you all the runes — Cursed Form, Reservoir, Self Sacrifice, Blood Debt and Blood and Bone, and refreshes the skill's massive 2 minute cooldown when you die.
The 4-piece set bonus offers the baseline 50% damage reduction expected by sets in Diablo 3 and splits actual damage taken between yourself and the Simulacrums.
The 6-piece set bonus increases the damage of Bone Spear by 6000% for your own casts, and grants triple this bonus to the duplicates cast by your Simulacrums.
