Build Introduction
The Infinistep Blazing Abyss Warlock build is played similarly to the classic OG Infinimist Necro build from way back when it would dish out all of its damage whilst remaining completely immortal. This Warlock version of that insanity makes you immortal for the vast majority of your gameplay with small windows of actually being attackable. An important note is that you will be Stealthed when you’re not immortal making it very safe!

Skill Bar and Skill Tree Points
The remaining 2 skills on your action bar should be: Command Laalish and Profane Sentinel. Currently The Profane Sentinel is bugged in our skill-tree tool, we do put maximum amount of points in it!
Follow the points allocated in the Skill Tree above for the complete 83-point build. 14 skill points are locked behind the Season Rank System.
Class Mechanic – Soul Shards
Soul Shards is the Warlocks unique class mechanic allowing you to bind yourself to a Soul Shard Greater Demon that will fight beside you. They come with a variety of different effects as well as on-use-abilities to help you on the battlefield.

Paragon Board

Lord of Hatred (Season 13)
Season 13 does not offer any specific seasonal mechanic due to the release of the Lord of Hatred expansion. Instead we’re getting a ton of new features such as the Warlock and Paladin class, War Plans, Talismans, Horadric Cube, Echoing Hatred and reworked skill-trees!
For a complete overview of Season 13, mechanics and theme, new leveling activity, and other changes coming, please take a look at our comprehensive season hub here.
Talismans
The Lord of Hatred expansion introduces Talismans as a new character progression system. You get to equip a Seal and place Charms into its slots for a massive power boost. The recommended setup for the Demon Summoner Warlock build is listed below:
- Seal – A 6 charm slot seal with Critical Strike Multiplier or any damage multiplier is the best here. The best set to use here would be “Shadow of Harash” (5 pieces)
- Charm – Abyss or Demonology Ranks, all stats or any defensive or utility affixes is preferred. Make sure you get 5 of them to be of the same set as your Seal and the last charm should be
Crown of Lucion for optimal Talismans. If you are wearing
Crown of Lucion then instead opt to use
Rustbitten Dirk.
Mercenaries
During the Vessel of Hatred campaign, you will unlock Mercenaries to assist you. While you can choose freely early on, we recommend Raheir as your main merc:
For the reinforcement, stick with Varyana, utilizing her
Bloodlust to trigger when any Skill is cast in combat.
Rotation and Build Mechanics
Build operates by sending out our damage sources that are based on skill-duration to allow us to sit close to permanently in
Nether Step being rendered immortal only to hop out for about 0.5 seconds to reapply
Nether Step. The rotation below will cover how we do this in more details.
Rotation and Playstyle
- Command Laalish – Provides a good amount of Shadowform stacks and deals some damage.
Metamorphosis – Puts us in Demonform gives a massive amount of Shadowform stacks. It also applies a huge damage boost via our Paragon board. Ultimately it allows us to cast Abyss Skills without breaking Stealth.
Dark Prison – Passive Damage Reduction, Weakens enemies and generates Fortify for us.
Blazing Scream – One of our main damage sources by dealing damage around it and is based on its duration allowing us to stay hidden whilst delivering all our damage. This is also our first skill we want to recast when we are inbetween
Nether Step immortality.- Profane Sentinel – Our second biggest damage skill with massive AoE and can be recast to re-target itself. This is our 2nd ability we would want to cast when we are inbetween
Nether Step immortality. Generally speaking you’ll want to re-target his against tougher enemies such as rares or bosses.
Nether Step – Once the above rotation is in effect you’ll want sit in the comfy shadows of immortality with this skill.
Season Updates
Since the Warlock is a brand new class coming to the world of Sanctuary there are no changes to be mentioned.
