Introduction
The Dry Steppes are a war-ravaged region, with deep canyons and boiling hot water. Different groups fight each other in brutal battles while unrest is starting to rise. To get more power, people even turn to cannibalism. To live in the Dry Steppes, one must either follow a life of ruthlessness or desperation.

Main Town: Ked Bardu
Ked Bardu is the biggest town hub of the Dry Steppes, and has many NPCs as well as a waypoint for quick travel. Most notable shops such as the Blacksmith, Jeweler, and Occultist are located near the center area of the town, and using the town portal within Dry Steppes, will always teleport the player back to Ked Bardu.
Waypoints
There are eight Waypoints located within the Dry Steppes.
Waypoints make it possible to move through a territory much more quickly than by walking or riding a mount alone. Traveling to World Boss Events, for instance, can be shortened by being aware of important Waypoints.
- Farobru – Waypoint located Northeast of Kotama Grasslands
- Ked Bardu – Waypoint inside town, located inside the southern center of Kotama Grasslands
- The Onyx Watchtower – Waypoint located Southeast of Ked Bardu, in between Kotama Grasslands and Khargai Crags.
- Fates Retreat – Waypoint located in the West of Chambatar Ridge.
- Hidden Overlook – Waypoint located Northeast of Jakha Basin.
- Jirandai – Waypoint located Southwest in Untamed Scraps.
- Alzuuda – Waypoint inside town, located in the Northwestern area in the Fields of Hatred.
- Ruins of Qara-Yisu – Waypoint inside the Stronghold. This can be accessed once the Stronghold has been cleansed of evil.

Strongholds
Strongholds are event areas that are marked by a red skull on the mini-map. They are occupied by different enemies which must be cleared out in order to unlock the area as a friendly part of the Region. In most cases, a Stronghold becomes a player-friendly town after it has been purged of enemies, however, it can also become a dungeon.
Each completed Stronghold also grants 100 Renown and experience. Certain Waypoints and Dungeons will also only become unlocked after successfully purging the Stronghold. In total, there are three Strongholds that can be cleansed of evil within the Dry Steppes:
- The Onyx Watchtower – Located Southeast from Ked Bardu.
- Temple of Rot – Located North of Jirandai Waypoint, or Southeast of the Fields of Hatred within Dry Steppes.
- The Ruins of Qara-Yisu – Located in the Southeastern part of the Region, all the way North of the Hidden Overlook Waypoint.
World Boss
The World Boss Zone of the Dry Steppes is located within an area known as Saraan Caldera, Northeast of the Qara-Yisu Stronghold / Waypoint.
World Bosses are big, terrible monsters that are dangerous to both melee, and ranged players. We recommend players to check out our World Boss Guides.
Ashava The Pestilent Guide Avarice The Gold Cursed Guide The Wandering DeathIt is always worth sticking around and fighting these strong encounters together with other players or friends, as world bosses can drop a special item called Scattered Prism, which is used to add sockets to certain slots of gear. Next to completing legion events, fighting world bosses is one of the best ways to farm Scattered Prisms.
