Grigoire is a Lair Boss with his own unique loot pool. To earn rewards, you will need to take him down while managing a few mechanics. You can adjust the world tier in town to make the fight easier or more challenging. Higher Torment difficulty will reward you with better drops.
How to Summon Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint
To open Grigoire’s treasure after his defeat, you will need 12 Living Steel, which drops from Tortured Gifts of Living Steel inside active Helltides.
Once you have enough, head to Ked Bardu and enter the Hall of the Penitent. You can travel directly to the dungeon by right-clicking. Make your way through the short dungeon, and at the end, you will find an altar where you can summon Grigoire. You will need the Living Steel to loot the reward chest after the fight.

Preparations
- Stack Lightning Resistance: Make sure your Lightning Resistance is as high as possible. You can also boost your Max Lightning Resistance with the
Elixir of Lightning Resistance II.
- Play a Build You Trust: Bring a build with strong single-target damage and survivability. If unsure, check out our Boss Tier list for suggestions.
Boss Mechanics
Grigoire deals mostly Lightning and Physical damage. Like most Lair bosses, he has a Stagger Bar; once it’s filled, it turns blue and will stun the boss temporarily, giving you a free damage window.
During the fight in addition to his default attacks, Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint, has a few mechanics to look out for:
- Summon Animation (Arena Shockwave): When you summon Grigoire, the ground lights up in squares of electricity, starting from the outer edge and moving inward. Stand in the center until the last second, then dodge out before he lands.

- Mace Slam: Red electrified circles appear on the ground, move out quickly before they detonate.

- Mace Swing: Swings send out lingering sparking projectiles. Stay mobile to avoid getting chipped down.

- Summons – Knights: He will spawn a pack of Knights that try to box you in. Use AoE skills to clear them fast before they overwhelm you.

- Pylons: He can also summon lightnings between the pylons that electrify nearby ground. Avoid crossing the pylon connections until they disappear.

Loot Table
To get your loot, you will need to use the required materials to open the reward chest or hoard after the fight. The first Unique dropped is guaranteed to come from the boss-specific loot table below. Any additional Uniques have a 50% chance to come from the general Unique pool instead.
If you are playing in a group, each additional party member increases the chance of an extra Unique dropping by 33%.
In addition, Grigoire also drops Shard of Agony required to summon Duriel or
Stygian Stone required to craft any Lair Keys.
You can also earn the Demonbinder Mount Armor cosmetic.

Belial Ambush Encounter
After defeating a Lair Boss, there is a small chance that Belial will ambush you. This unexpected encounter brings its own set of challenges, as Belial uses a mix of Blood and Poison magic that you will need to avoid.
Defeating this smaller form of Belial will grant you a second round of loot from the Lair Boss you just killed, without requiring any additional materials. He will also drop the Betrayer’s Husk, the item needed to challenge Belial’s Exalted Lair Boss form.
