Since his introduction in Season of Blood, we have been able to fight Lord Zir as his Level 80 version in WT4. Now, with Season 4, we are also able to take on the challenge of fighting his Level 200 Tormented version. As with other endgame bosses, Lord Zir has a special pool of uniques that he can drop. The Tormented Level 200 version is not only much harder but also costs 3 times the materials to summon in addition to 2 Stygian Stone, yet it drops 5 times the loot.
How to Summon Lord Zir
To Summon Lord Zir you must acquire 9 Exquisite Blood from Legion Events, World Bosses, and random drops from elites and treasure goblins during Helltides.
You then take those to The Darkened Way east of Kyovashad, and once you go inside look on your map for the Ancient’s Seat. Fight your way through, and then use the materials at the altar to summon Lord Zir.
Normal Lord Zir
- 9Exquisite Blood used at the Altar in the Ancient’s Seat.
Tormented Lord Zir
- 27 Exquisite Blood and 2 Stygian Stone used at the Altar in the Ancient’s Seat.
Preparations
- Get your Shadow Resistance as high as possible, including increasing your Max Shadow Resist through items like Elixir of Shadow Resistance II.
- Play a build that you are comfortable with and that has shown to have enough damage and survivability to take on bosses (check out our Tier list here for suggestions).
Boss Mechanics
Lord Zir has a few abilities that are Shadow based so make sure that your Shadow resistance is capped, and you use an Elixir of Shadow Resistance II.
Stagger Bar: Like most bosses in Diablo 4, Lord Zir has a stagger bar. Filling this bar will stun her, allowing you to deal damage without worrying about his attacks for a few seconds.
During the fight, in addition to his default attacks, Lord Zir has a few mechanics to look out for:
- Blood Puddles: Red Puddles on the ground, make sure to avoid them, or you will take heavy damage.
- When he raises both arms for his frontal attack, run or evade to place yourself behind his back.
- Blood Globes: About halfway through the fight, he will spawn Blood Globes all over the room, and you need to avoid them.
- Towards the end of the fight (around 30% HP left) he will fly up into the air, then land and spawn a void zone that will spawn little flying blood orbs.
- Adds: Throughout the fight, he will summon adds that you may remember from the Season of Blood
- Elite Bloodseeker: Starting about 25% into the fight or around 75% HP left Lord Zir will start to summon Elite Bloodseekers and random intervals.
Tormented-only abilities:
- Lord Zir has a stacking debuff that will be inflicted whenever you are hit by his attacks; gain too many of these and the fight will be unwinnable.
