Introduction
The Lunar Awakening event is a limited-time event that celebrates the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Snake. It runs from February 4 to February 18, 2025, and offers players from the Seasonal and Eternal Realms a chance to earn bonus XP and cosmetic rewards by activating Lunar Shrines across Sanctuary.
How to Participate
To join the Lunar Awakening event, you need to visit the Lunar Night Market in Ked Bardu and talk to Ying-Yue, the leader of the market. She will be marked with a purple icon on the map and will explain the event as well as how to earn reputation for the Ancestor’s Favor, which can then be redeemed for various rewards at the market. For the duration of the event, this market will also serve as the central hub for players.
The main activity of the event is to find and activate Lunar Shrines, which are scattered throughout the open world and inside dungeons.
Lunar Shrines have a snake-like appearance and a specific icon on the map, making them easy to find. When you activate a Lunar Shrine, you will gain 100% more XP (multiplicative) and a special power for 2 minutes, as well as Ancestor’s Favors.
Lunar Shrine Buffs
There are seven augmented Lunar Shrine effects:
- Artillery Shrine: Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
- Blast Wave Shrine: Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
- Channeling Shrine: Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
- Conduit Shrine: Summon frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
- Greed Shrine: Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, kills summon a Treasure Goblin.
- Lethal Shrine: Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. Note: this includes Elites, but excludes Bosses and other Players.
- Protection Shrine: You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and World Tier.
Furthermore, when you activate a Lunar Shrine, Miserly Spirits will begin to spawn, allowing you to use your newfound powers on them to earn even more Ancestor’s Favor reputation.
Rewards
The Lunar Awakening event has 10 Ancestor’s Favor reputation levels, each with a different amount of reputation required to unlock. As you level up your reputation, you will unlock six different lunar-themed cosmetic rewards (including a Mount).
You can check your reputation level and progress at the Lunar Night Market, and claim your rewards from Ying-Yue. The rewards are account-wide, so you can use them on any of your characters. Previous Lunar rewards from last year such as the Lunar Scepter, Dragon’s Courage, Moonshot Bow, Dragon’s Tapestry, Moon’s Bounty, and Trag’Oul’s Consort cosmetics can only be earned once.
