Occult Gems are a powerful new addition in Diablo 4 Season 7, that come with various unique benefits to boost your character. Crafted from the remains of Headrotten Fugitive Heads at the Tree of Whispers, these gems are meant to complement your Witchcraft powers and builds.
How to Craft Occult Gems
To start crafting Occult Gems, you will need to defeat a Fugitive Head boss and collect its Stolen Fugitive Head. Bring this reclaimed Head to Gelena at the Tree of Whispers.
Here is what you need to craft a Magic Occult Gem:
- 1 Fugitive Heads: Collected by slaying powerful Headrotten bosses.
- 1000 Restless Rot: Obtained by hunting Headrotten enemies across Headhunt zones.
- 50 000 Gem Fragments: Gathered from dismantling gems or found during your adventures. Each Gem requires a different type of gem fragment.
To craft a Rrare Occult Gem, you will require 2 magic gems and 75 000 Gem Fragments. And finally, to craft a Legendary Occult Gem, you will need to assemble 2 additional magic gems as well as 1 rare gem and 100 000 Gem Fragments. Making crafting a Legendary Occult Gem quite the challenge.
Occult Gems and Their Benefits
Occult Gems are slotted exclusively in jewelry and will only be available during Season 7. They provide defensive stats and bonus effects, making sure that they outshine traditional gems like 
Grand Skull and 
Grand Diamond.
- Base Stats: Each Occult Gem grants 160 Armor and 8% Resist All.
- Rarities: Available in Magic, Rare, and Legendary rarities, with their powers scaling by rarity.
Occult Gems add Witchcraft effects to skills and provide bonuses to builds that focus on complimenting Witchcraft powers. Rumors even suggest some Occult Gems possess the power to cheat death, though such legends are yet to be proven.

| Vile Phylactery | While you have a Witch Power with the Summon tag slotted, if you would take fatal damage, instead prevent that damage. Then gain a Barrier equal to 100% of your Maximum Life and disable your Witchcraft Powers with the Summon tag for 6 seconds. This can only occur once every 75 seconds. |
| Witching Hour | While you have three or more Eldritch Witch Powers slotted, every 1 seconds, the next Core Skill you cast gains the Eldritch tag. |
| Voice of the Stars | While you have an Aura active, your Ultimate Skills gain each Grimoire tag and deal 10% more damage. |

- Prioritize Fugitive Heads! Focus on farming Headhunts and completing Rootholds to obtain the Stolen Fugitive Heads needed for crafting.
- Use Occult Gems to explore the Witchcraft powers, creating builds fitting your playstyle.
