Quick Reference Campaign Leveling Guide Act 5

1. Guide Format

This guide has been organized by the main quest acts that players can choose from in Diablo 4, so that it is easy to follow the optimal path for leveling, and questing.

Use the Table of Contents below to jump to any act guide. Additionally, there is a button at the end of each page that can take you to the next act guide.

2. Act 5 Guide

1. We recommend you reach at least Level 35 before taking on Act 5.

The Path Divided

2. Travel to Hawezar and reach Zarbinzet in the south.
3. Unlock Zarbinzet Waypoint.
4. Speak with Taissa.
5. Speak with Donan in the northern side of the town.
6. Choose between two quests: Tainted Flesh (with Lorath and Neyrelle) or Secrets of the Zakarum (with Donan).

Secrets of the Zakarum (Donan’s quest)

7. Join Donan east of your location, in the Ruins of Rakhat Keep.
8. Unlock the Waypoint there.
9. Speak with Donan.
10. Follow the path behind you and climb up a damaged wall.
11. Climb all around the wall.
12. Head down the broken stairs into the Inner Court of the Ruins of Rakhat.
13. Unlock the Waypoint in there.
14. Interact with the gate on the other side to let Donan enter.
15. Speak with Donan.
16. Follow Donan inside the door and speak with him until he opens the Foul Undercrypts door.

Entombed Hatred

17. Follow Donan inside the crypt.
18. Follow the path until you reach the place where you can attune the Soulstone.
19. Defeat the Paladin guarding the door.
20. Enter the Black Tomb of Sanketur.
21. Speak with Donan.
22. Follow Donan’s instructions to complete the ritual.
23. Defeat the enemies.
24. Speak with Donan.

Swamp Hospitality

25. Find your way to Wejinhani, a little to the north, to find Donan.
26. Unlock the Waypoint.
27. Speak with Donan.
28. Head east outside of town.
29. Head inside the tower and find the witch.
30. Speak with the witch.

Witch of the Wastes

31. Head to the Cinder Wastes.
32. Look for a healing well near the north end of the yellow circle zone.
33. Interact with the Volatile Cauldron, a Manifesto, and Valtha’s Spellbook.
34. Interact with Valtha.
35. Defeat Valtha.
36. Pick up the item called Vial of Purified Quicksilver.
37. Walk back to Donan and the Witch without teleporting.
38. Place the Vial in the bowl on the table and speak with the witch.

Encumbered Mind

39. Mix the Quicksilver on the left of the room with other liquids.
40. Turn the Wheel next to Donan exactly three times.
41. Grind the sulfur.
42. Speak with the witch outside.

The Cage of Grief

43. Head to the Hungering Swamp.
44. Head straight ahead from where you enter the swamp to locate the ritual site.
45. Inside, speak with the witch.
46. Find the items needed: Yellow Lotus (north end of the swamp) and Maggot Queen Ichor (southwest of the ritual site).
47. Head back to the ritual site and place the items in the bowl.
48. Speak with the witch.
49. Drink the tea.
50. Head inside the portal that appeared.
51. Follow the wolf through the area.
52. After the conversation, leave the place through the next portal.

One Step Forward

53. Speak with the witch inside the house.
54. Speak with Donan.
55. Mix the Quicksilver on the left.
56. Turn the wheel twice this time.
57. Grind the sulfur.
58. Speak with Donan.
59. With the ritual completed, go help Lorath and Neyrelle.

Tainted Flesh (Lorath and Neyrelle’s quest)

60. Meet up with Lorath and Neyrelle east of Zarbinzet.
61. They can be found towards the middle of the yellow search area circle.
62. Speak with them.
63. Interact with the door at the southern end of the next search circle to speak with Timue.

Wrack & Ruin

64. Head towards the center of the search area to find Yngovani.
65. Interact with a door with serpents on it on the west side of Yngovani.
66. Head back to the swamps and find the serpent’s eyes.
67. The first eye can be found near your location at a Destroyed Serpent Shrine.
68. The next eye is northwest of your location at a Thieves Encampment.
69. Head back to the door and place the eyes.

Cold Blood

70. Enter the Slithering Dark.
71. Reach Mohlon’s Nest and defeat Mohlon, the Snake Queen.
72. Pick up the Incense and climb down the rope to return to Yngovani.
73. Speak with Lorath.

Judgment of the Swamp

74. Follow Lorath and Neyrelle to the Bloodstained Altar.
75. Light the Incense.

The Serpentine Path

76. Follow the Serpent through the Swamp.
77. Kill enemies when ambushed in the Sinking Detritus area.
78. Wait for Neyrelle to drop a ladder and climb up.
79. Climb back down the other side.

Dirge of the Mire

80. Speak with Neyrelle in the Venom-Drenched Path.
81. Follow the Serpent and move through the Swamps.
82. Wound the Serpent when it’s wounded.
83. Take down the dead trees.
84. Follow Lorath to the right.
85. Defeat enemies.
86. Follow Neyrelle back to the Serpent.

The Slow, Beating Heart

87. Speak with Neyrelle.
88. Continue the path and rejoin the Serpent.
89. Climb on the Serpent’s back.
90. Arrive at the Tree of Whispers.
91. Speak with Lorath.
92. Grab the fast-travel Waypoint on the left of the Tree of Whispers.

A Cold and Lifeless Shore

93. Make your way to the far east/right side of the map, at the coast.
94. Unlock the Backwater Waypoint.
95. Speak with Lorath.
96. Venture around the coast to find the coffin.
97. Speak with Lorath and Neyrelle.

Picking Through the Bones

98. Enter the shipwreck and go through the rotting door.
99. Take the ladder up.
100. Jump across to the next ship.
101. Keep moving forward and jumping from ship to ship until reaching a locked door.
102. Defeat enemies while Neyrelle unlocks the door.
103. Attack the door to break it down.
104. Interact with Neyrelle.
105. Keep following the path until you reach the Coffin.
106. Interact with the coffin.

Beneath the Wine-Dark Sea

107. Move ahead and interact with the Echo of Elias.
108. Move towards the right.
109. Interact with the other Echo of Elias.
110. Continue into the next corridor.
111. Break down the pillar on the right of the flooded staircase.
112. Interact with another Echo of Elias.
113. Head back to the crossroad and take the road straight ahead.
114. Go down the stairs and interact with the final Echo of Elias.
115. Head back to the crossroad and take the road straight ahead, down the other set of stairs.
116. Continue the path inside the Corrupted Marrow.
117. Climb down the path.
118. Jump across several gaps until reaching an altar with Elias’s finger on it.
119. Pick up the finger.
120. Water will rise.

Fragments of Mortality

121. Speak with Lorath.
122. Burn Elias’s finger.
123. Speak with Neyrelle.

On the Precipice

124. Make your way to Zakarum Keep.
125. Speak with Donan.
126. Head to the Foul Undercrypts.
127. Head inside and to the Black Tomb of Sankekur.
128. Speak with Donan.
129. Follow Taissa.
130. Defeat Elias, the Fallen Horadrim.
131. Chase after him after he runs away.

Knee-Deep in Faith

132. Follow Taissa.
133. Speak with Taissa.
134. Move through the Plaguemarsh until you find Elias against a rock.
135. Speak with Lorath.
136. Defeat Elias for good.
137. After defeating him, speak with Taissa.

A Chorus of Voices

138. Teleport back to the Tree of Whispers and speak with Lorath.
139. The cutscene will end Act 5, preparing you for the final Act of the game.
