Update: Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher has given us an update on the situation:
Blizzard has confirmed what many players have been reporting, as Hammer of the Ancients is doing much less damage than intended. Some players place the numbers at as much as 75% reduced damage, so let’s hope it gets fixed soon!

The team is looking into the Hammer of the Ancients items players have been reporting. This isn’t intended behavior, and the team is on it.
