Diablo 4’s Season of Witchcraft is getting some great updates soon! According to the latest patch notes, some of the main seasonal activities are receiving big improvements, making it easier for us to farm Forgotten Altars for Lost Witchcraft Powers, track Headhunt progress, and complete Whisper Bounties.
If you do not want to read through the full list of patch notes, here is a quick breakdown of the most important changes:
- Forgotten Altars will spawn more frequently.
- More Ravens of the Tree will appear in Headhunt Zones.
- New UI elements to better track Headhunt progress.
- Two new Whisper Bounties have been added.
- Headhunt icons updated for improved visual clarity.
- UI improvements to highlight activity progress, key locations, and notable enemies.
- New UI tracker to help monitor progress toward spawning Headrotten Bosses.
It might not seem like a lot, but these changes should make things feel much better throughout your gameplay sessions, especially for players who have struggled to find Forgotten Altars due to their rarity!
The Patch goes live on February 4, 2025!
How to Farm Forgotten Altars
Now that there will be increased spawn rates, it is the perfect time to farm Forgotten Altars! If you are looking for the best way to do so, here is what we recommend:
- Farm Hoarfrost Demise in Torment 4 (or at least Torment 1+ if you have not reached T4 yet).
- Use a Draught of Whispers Elixir while running through the dungeon to improve your odds of finding an Altar.
- Reset the dungeon if there is no Altar inside; repeat until you find some.
- Try Pit or Roothold runs while using the Elixir, as they also increase your chances.
Keep in mind: Pit runs seem to be the most effective, but you will not be able to invite a friend to join when you find an Altar there.
