Vessel of Hatred’s launch season, which you do not have to own the expansion to play, brings some incredibly useful, gatherable and selectable buffs! Seething Opals are a key consumable that allow you to use one whenever you like, and keep many different ones in your inventory!
What Do Seething Opals Do?
A Seething Opal is an elixir which grants various buffs, which you can actually select yourself! From the base 15% additional experience buff that they all have, there are many other options as well. From gold to reputation, additional currency/crafting items of various kinds, there’s even one that buffs loot drops!
There are five different types of Opal, as you can see above. The Opal of Socketables is a special one. It can only be acquired if you own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, and only from Seething Realms within the expansion’s new zone Nahantu. It’s a very powerful one, however, as it not only enhances gem drops, but also Runes!
But the absolute best part of these elixirs is that you can get many of them and save them up to use consecutively! So you can farm a whole lot of them, save them up and then chain them together for use on the weekend or similar. They are always awarded in pairs as well, so you can pop one immediately and save the other for later!
How Can I Get Seething Opals?
Seething Opals are always awarded at the end of Seething Realm dungeons. These are part of the new seasonal activity, and a portal to them opens once you defeat a Realmwalker. Realmwalkers appear on the world map during Season 6, spawning every 15 minutes in the original zones, and every hour in the expansion zone.
To select an opal as a reward from Seething Realms, you’ll need some Obols and other materials, however. Here is a full list:
- Seething Opal of Equipment: 25 Murmuring Obols
- Seething Opal of Materials: 5 Murmuring Obols
- Seething Opal of Torment Challenges: 200 Sigil Powder
- Seething Opal of Gold: 1 Iron Chunk
- Seething Opal of Socketables: 3 Angelbreath
