Have you been thinking about pushing The Pit to Tier 150 in Diablo 4? Now might be your best (and possibly last) chance to do it.
Players across the community are jumping on the overpowered Blood Wave Necromancer build, using it to rush through endgame content while it is still viable. Some say it takes barely any optimization to clear even the highest-tier Pits, which is exactly why so many players are rushing to hit Pit 150 before Season 8 nerfs it into the ground.
One player shared their success story on Reddit, saying they managed to clear Pit 150 just in time by following a guide and powering through with some lucky monster spawns. And they are not alone; more players are joining the grind, seeing this as a rare window of opportunity to claim the “Fell Maven” title reward before build balance changes again.
Blood Wave: Power or Problem?
While Blood Wave is undeniably effective, most of us players agree that it is not exactly fun to play. The build boils down to stacking damage, clearing mobs with simple rotations, collecting blood orbs to reduce the big Blood Wave ultimate cooldown, and steamrolling bosses: Efficient, yes, but not particularly engaging.
When a build is as strong as Blood Wave is this season, it has others feel forced to drop their favorite builds just to keep up with the meta, and that lack of diversity is starting to wear a lot of players down.
And it is not the first time this has happened. Veteran players compare this to previous seasons with Spiritborn release or bugged elixirs making Pit clears feel “trivial”. Some are already expecting the cycle to repeat next season with a different overpowered setup.
However, that is most likely only going to happen with boss powers, not actual character skills/builds…
Some Say It Is Just Not Worth It
There is also debate about the question if pushing high-tier Pits is even meaningful. Aside from monster health and damage scaling, nothing really changes, no unique mechanics, no extra loot. For many, Pit 150 is more about personal achievement or bragging rights than gameplay reward.
Still, there are also a few players who are just in it for the fun of the grind… or the challenge of squeezing out every last bit of power before Blizzard inevitably swings the nerf hammer.
Some Already Looking Beyond Diablo 4
Not everyone plans to stick around next season. A surprising number of players in the Reddit thread alone say they are planning to jump ship to Last Epoch‘s upcoming Season 2 or wait for Path of Exile 2, due to better gameplay systems and more build flexibility.
In the end, it does not even matter if you are chasing Pit 150 or just watching from the sidelines, it is clear that the ending of this season looks to be a turning point, or at least the final send-off for the Blood Wave meta before it is gone for good.
