Diablo 4 Tip: Easily Track Restless Rot in Your Inventory


<p>An interesting question was posed over on r/diablo4, as a players wondered why exactly there were three separate altars for the same Witchcraft powers at the Tree of Whispers. </p>



<p>As you may have noticed, the Tree of Whispers is host to three separate Altars of Witchcraft. Each has the Witchcraft powers available and players have been running around all three thinking that there may be different ones offered at the different altars. There&#8217;s even one that shimmers seemingly at random! </p>

<p>Well, as you&#8217;ll know if you&#8217;ve ever checked them, they are in fact all the same. So why would there be three?</p>



<p>Well, as <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Winter_Ad_2618/">Winter_Ad_2618</a> helpfully explains, the three altars represent the three Witchcraft schools, Eldricht, Phsyche, and Growts and Decay. They also each held the powers of their respective school back on the Public Test Realm, but it seems some players were confused by this and didn&#8217;t know where to find them. And so it seems Blizzard just put all the powers on all the altars! They then left them in because, well, they look nice and add to the atmosphere. But why exactly they didn&#8217;t remove the power-buying functionality from them is a little strange. </p>

Thosewill <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/how-to-get-lost-witchcraft-powers/">grant you powers from the Lost school, and allow you to upgrade them cheaper</a>! </p>


Why Are There Three Witchcraft Altars at the Tree of Whispers?

Diablo 4 Season 7 Hotfixes: January 22nd


<p>Leveling up quickly in Season 7 is all about efficiency and knowing which activities to focus your time on. Maybe you are starting this season a little later on the weekend, or you already started with your main but are interested in leveling another character; either way, we have compiled a list with everything you need to know to get started on your leveling journey:</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Skip the Campaign</h3>



<p>If you have already completed the campaign once on your account before (including <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/vessel-of-hatred-overview/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vessel of Hatred</a>, if you own it), use the &#8220;Skip Campaign&#8221; option. This lets you jump straight into <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">seasonal content</a> and activities without having to replay the story.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Start on Normal, Adjust as You Go</h3>



<p>Begin on <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/world-tier-difficulty/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Normal difficulty</a>, and if things feel too easy around Level 15, switch to Hard for the extra XP. Do not rush into higher tiers, only move up when your gear and build are strong enough. It is better to stay fast and efficient than to struggle with tougher enemies for slightly increased rewards.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Seasonal Activities</h3>



<p>Pick up the season questline as soon as possible to unlock Coven&#8217;s Favor (this season&#8217;s reputation system). Completing season quests will reward you with Restless Rot, with which you can get <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/witchcraft-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Witchcraft Powers</a> and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/occult-gems-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Occult Gems</a>. Focus on:</p>



<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/headhunts-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Headhunt Zones</a> for fast-paced XP and seasonal rewards.</li>



<li>Whispers of the Dead within Headhunt Zones for even more rewards.</li>



<li>Roothold mini-dungeons if you need a break. (Tip: Skip the end boss if your build struggles with single-target damage.)</li>

<li>Always have a Pet active to collect materials for you automatically.</li>



<li>Hire a Mercenary to help with damage and survivability.

<li>If you have never unlocked Mercenaries, start by completing the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/mercenaries-guide/#how_to_unlock_mercenaries" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mercenary questline</a> first. If you unlocked them in a previous season, you can simply teleport to the Den in Nahantu and hire your chosen Mercenaries.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li>Use Elixirs for bonus XP. These unlock at Level 10 and provide a 5-8% XP boost, depending on the type.</li>



<li>Smoldering Ashes should be invested into the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/season-blessings-in-diablo-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Seasonal Blessing</a> for bonus XP first to maximize leveling speed.</li>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Keep an Eye on Your Season Journey</h3>



<p>Check your <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/latest-season-journey-for-diablo-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Season Journey</a> progression every now and then. Chapters 1-3 are filled with objectives that you can easily complete while leveling, so you can earn rewards as you go.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Plan for Torment 1 at Level 50-60</h3>



<p>Once you hit Level 50, you will want to transition into <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/world-tier-difficulty/#torment_difficulties" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Torment Difficulty</a> (T1). Before switching, make sure your gear is upgraded and tempered, as enemies will hit much harder! Tempering your gear with the right affixes can make all the difference!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Class Specialization Quests?</h3>



<p>If you are feeling nostalgic (or just want extra rewards), you can redo your Class Quest; but it is optional if you have already completed it in a previous season. However, in some cases, the class specialization does not unlock immediately unless you first log in with the same class on the Eternal Realm. Many players have reported that their seasonal character&#8217;s class mechanic only became available after logging in with a character of the same class who had previously completed the quest on the Eternal Realm.</p>

<p>At the end of the day, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/headhunts-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Headhunt Zones</a> are the MVP of Season 7 leveling. They offer great rewards, fast XP, and plenty of seasonal fun. Even if speed is not your primary goal, focusing on seasonal mechanics like <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/witchcraft-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Witchcraft Powers</a> and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/occult-gems-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Occult Gems</a> will give you a nice power boost so you can slay more monsters and enjoy everything else Season 7 has in store!</p>

The Best Way to Level Up in Season 7


<p>The Season of Witchcraft is here and the new powers are really making a splash. You can purchase most at the Tree of Whispers, but what about the Lost ones?</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Are Lost Witchcraft Powers?</h2>

<p>In addition to the three main Witchcraft power categories, Eldricht, Psyche, and Growth and Decay, there&#8217;s a fourth one, containing Lost powers. These are special as you&#8217;ll have to find them around Sanctuary to be able to use them! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Where To Find and How To Upgrade Them</h2>



<p>You need to find Forgotten Altars in dungeons all around Sanctuary in order to unlock the Lost powers. Once you get one of them, you can upgrade them the same way as regular Witchcraft powers, but they will cost you much more Restless Rot. The best way to upgrade them, unless you&#8217;re really swimming in rot, is to find another altar, where their upgrade costs are lower/the same as other powers. </p>

<li>At Rank 8: Gain 40% Lucky Hit chance while bonuses from Eldritch, Psyche, Growth &amp; Decay are active at once.</li>

<li>At Rank 10: Increase the Critical Strike Chance by 10% against enemies afflicted by your Hex Effects.</li>

How To Get Lost Witchcraft Powers in Season 7


<p>The Spiritborn is very much the odd-one-out for the Season 7 class changes, as it&#8217;s the only one to receive predominantly nerfs due to its extreme over-performance in Season 6. However, it did get Razor Wings buffed with an increased number of, well, razor wings, and it&#8217;s become <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/razor-wings-spiritborn-build/">its best build of the season</a>! As for the nerfs, well, take a look!</p>

The Razorest of Wings: All Spiritborn Season 7 Class Changes


<p>Some players are having trouble salvaging items after they&#8217;ve been saved to an Armory loadout. Luckily, there&#8217;s an easy fix! </p>



<p>When you save an item to an Armor profile/loadout, it automatically marks that item as favorite. The Armory uses its own icons to mark items that are part of a loadout, which makes it hard to notice that the item is also marked as favorite. You can&#8217;t sell favorite items, but you can unfavorite them, as <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Saucermote/">Saucermote</a> found out after some poking around. </p>

How to Salvage Armory-Marked Loadout Items


<p>It seems players are having trouble finding the seasonal quest and were worried it was missing for them. As it turns out, you need to have finished the Vessel of Hatred prologue in order for it to show up. If you own the expansion, that is. So it&#8217;s a fast an easy fix, as Blizzard explain:</p>

How to Start Season 7 Quest if You’re Having Issues


<p>The Season of Witchcraft is here and it seems there&#8217;s quite the difficulty spike at the very start. </p>



<p>The season hasn&#8217;t been here long but players are already learning that going back to zero is quite a different experience from their super-geared high-level antics. The start of the seasonal questline seems to be doing a reality check, as the first enemy we have to defeat in it is racking up quite the kill count. </p>

<p>It seems &#8220;Hard&#8221; difficulty is actually earning its name for once! The low levels and basically no build to speak of at this early stage are throwing players off and causing them to fail the very first quest. There are actually four difficulties you can select with a new character, so Hard isn&#8217;t even in the upper spectrum of difficulty, so you can imagine the surprise players felt when dying to an Enraged Headless Husk. </p>

<p>In the end, players are reducing the difficulty to Normal just to be done with it. After a few levels, the issue resolves itself so it&#8217;s not exactly a problem, but it&#8217;s really interesting to see a difficulty spike and players outright dying this early. </p>
