<p>Veteran developers behind DIablo I and DIablo II have announced their ambitious return to the genre! <a href="https://www.moonbeast.com">Moon Beast Productions</a>, founded by Erich Schaefer, Phil Shenk, and Peter Hu, has successfully secured $4.5 million in seed funding to create an ARPG that pays homage to classic DIablo gameplay while introducing innovative, dynamic worlds and user-generated content.</p>



<p>The studio plans to reveal more details about their project in early 2025, but the team has already outlined their vision of a highly interactive experience. Schaefer, who served as the lead designer on Diablo I, emphasized their aim to &#8220;go back to what made those early Diablo games feel awesome&#8221; while exploring fresh directions enabled by modern technology.</p>

Diablo I & II Creators Secure $.4.5M to Revolutionize ARPGS with a New Game


<p>You can usually count on the Diablo community to come up with massive quality-of-life-improving tips. Today is different, however, as one tip on the Diablo 4 Reddit turned out to be counterproductive.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Lot of Goblins to Kill</h2>



<p>The holiday event is predicated on players killing a whole lot of goblins as a community <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/slay-ride-to-hell-event-guide/">to unlock additional rewards</a>. The goblin frequency hasn&#8217;t been great outside of Nahantu Helltides, and some would argue even there. Subo&#8217;s Mercenary ability was said to help with finding the goblins, but as it turns out, it actually hurts instead.</p>



<p>Subo&#8217;s main ability highlights everything around you, from resource nodes to enemies. Now, as you can see it also spots the goblins, so it&#8217;s easy to see why someone would have confused that with an improvement over the usual state. </p>

<p>However, this is absolutely the same as not having him around. In fact, if you&#8217;re only interested in the goblins, it&#8217;s a downgrade. The visual clutter of everything being highlighted makes them harder to spot. Here&#8217;s a clean version, without the merc:</p>

<p>The distance you spot the goblins at is very much the same and doesn&#8217;t seem to be extended by Subo&#8217;s ability. But if you don&#8217;t mind the clutter, there&#8217;s no reason not to bring him along anyway! </p>



<p>Also, there really do seem to be plenty of goblins in Nahantu Helltides if you ride around trying to find them. We ran into many double-teams around the map even in the short time testing the above. </p>


How To More Easily Find Treasure Goblins During the Slay Ride to Hell Event


<p>The<a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/slay-ride-to-hell-event-guide/"> new Treasure Goblin event</a> has been live for half a day now and there&#8217;s some division in the community on whether the sheer numbers of the little thieves are nearly enough. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Not Enough! </h2>



<p>First off we have quite a few comments on goblin density being ridiculous, not only for the very high amounts required to unlock tier 5, but just in general. We have players like the ones below simply not running into any significant change, seeing from 1 to 5 goblins per hour. </p>

<p>Those numbers are certainly not going to be enough to get to the 4.5 million mark to unlock tier 5 rewards. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">More Than Enough! </h2>



<p>Then there are other players who have met many goblins in their recent travels! It seems the event is really good enough only in Nahantu Helltides. Players there are reporting anything from 20 goblins per Helltide to a crazy 30 per 15 minutes! It&#8217;s worth noting that each goblin has a chance to spawn another one on death, and Greed Shrines spawn two at the end of their effect. </p>

Where Are the Goblins: Is There Enough Density in the Slay Ride to Hell Event?

<p>Players are really pushing the limit in Hordes as we&#8217;ve officially broken through the 1.7K Barrier! </p>



<p><a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Waltz_Prestigious/">Waltz_Prestigious</a> took down a run and got a crazy amount of Aether at the end, and it was incredibly rounded as well, coming in at exactly 1700! </p>

<p>As they explain, the run was &#8220;a fluke&#8221;, with some near-perfect picks for the waves. The build was <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/evade-eagle-spiritborn-build/">Evade Speed Farm Spiritborn</a>, and here&#8217;s some more comments on the run and what exactly spawned. </p>



<p>&#8220;It was a fluke. I got hellborne on round 1, then hellfire, hellfire hellborne, then surging hellborne, hellborne damage, and another surging hellborne.<br>Happened today and had to take a picture as most rounds this season have been lackluster and I’ve done a LOT of hordes. I ended up doing a couple counsel picks as to not mess with the hellborne rotation that was happening (spires, masses, etc). Oddly enough, this entire event happened without the spawn events 50% faster as well!&#8221; &#8211; <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Waltz_Prestigious/">Waltz_Prestigious</a> </p>



<p>So, there&#8217;s room to go even further with the faster event spawn option! Let&#8217;s see how high we can get in future seasons. Is 2K+ possible?</p>

Diablo 4 Base Game, Expansion, and Bundles Discounted in Holiday Sale


<p>Blizzard are offering players a chance to try out the new Vessel of Hatred class! </p>



<p>In case you haven&#8217;t already, now is a great time to jump into the Spiritborn&#8217;s shoes. During the Slay Ride to Hell goblin holiday event, players without the expansion will be able to play the new class. And with it still being pretty brokenly overpowered in Season 6, now is the best time to do it! </p>



<p>The event itself starts and ends a little earlier, on the 17th. The free class trial starts on December 19th and lasts through January 3rd! You will be limited to level 25, however. </p>



<p>So get on in there, choose your spirit, and blast some demons. And if you&#8217;re returning after being away for a while, you can also boost a non-Spiritborn character on Eternal realms! This puts the character at level 50, unlocks all Altars of Lilith, as well as gives you some gold and a full starting set of legendaries! <p>The undergrowth in Sanctuary is rife with creatures of the greediest inclinations. As these vermin scurry, the scarlet fur-lined bags on their backs jingle with loot ripe for the taking. Treasure Goblins are appearing in larger numbers, and it seems a hauntingly festive cheer has influenced their packs.</p>
<p>Starting on <b>December 17, 10 a.m.—January 2, 10 a.m. PST</b>, fight with your fellow wanderers across the globe to beat back the incursions of greedy mongrels for a heap of rewards. Band together with the entire Diablo IV community to reach global goblin slaying milestones, and tantalizing rewards will be yours for the taking.</p>
<p>While eviscerating packs of greedy goblins, don’t forget to use the Winback Booster in the Eternal Realm for an instant boost to Level 50, with included Legendary Items, powerful builds to use, and more. <p>There are 5 Tiers in total to conquer, be sure to check the Shop for additional free cosmetics if Tiers 3-5 are reached. Upon each Tier unlock, visit the Goblin Square in Kyovashad to claim your reward caches.</p>

<p>There are additional reward caches for expansion owners, along with the chance to cull even more goblins sighted in Nahantu. If you decide to purchase the Vessel of Hatred expansion while the event is live, you’ll be able to claim the additional reward caches waiting in the Goblin Square.</p>

<p>From <b>December 17—January 2</b>, all players will earn increased experience and Gold at a (multiplicative) increased rate. Lilith blesses all her children, as this bonus applies to both Seasonal and Eternal Realms and all World Tiers. This bonus stacks, so pair it with Elixirs and the Urn of Aggression to maximize your experience gains while killing Monsters.</p>
<p>Use this boost to carve through ranks of the Battle Pass, climb to higher Levels and World Tiers with burning swiftness, complete your Season Journey, and level multiple characters to their maximum potential.</p>
