Many players have been reporting a new bug in the Vessel of Hatred, as their experience bars get stuck and they cannot gain more levels.
The Problem
It’s been a rocky start to the expansion to say the least, and we have another major issue cropping up. It seems players are getting stuck and losing XP! The worst part is it’s a tricky thing to notice, and even the solution ends up costing you some experience.
The issue is that at some point the game seems to disconnect XP gains with no/few signs. Players only notice something is wrong when they reach the full XP bar and do not gain a level. There some indicators that this may be happening before that. We’ve seen reports of players not seeing their mercenary or being unable to access the Season Journey, which could mean your XP is bugged as well.
The (Not-Great) Solution
This one’s pretty trivial, but also annoying. It’s the old “unplug it and plug it in again” meme. You need to either log out of the character and back in, or restart the game, or perhaps even your console/PC. After that you will continue gaining XP, but…
Unfortunately any experience gained between when the bug started (which you will have a very hard time noticing, as we covered above) will be lost. Players are reporting losing almost a whole level. On the bright side leveling is pretty fast since Season 4 and especially 5, with the many new XP buffs available in the expansion as well.
So take care to keep an eye on your XP bar! And if you think something may be missing, check your mercenary and/or Season Journey!
