There is a big exploit in this week’s Gauntlet, and players have been abusing it. It is possible to pre-pull the dungeon and set the enemies up to your advantage before the timer ever starts. This that means you can get significantly higher scores if you use the exploit – at least it did.
A short while ago, Blizzard’s Adam Fletcher jumped into a reddit post on the matter. He explained that the exploit would be fixed with Week 2 of the Gauntlet, and that players using it would not appear on leaderboards.
We’ve got a fix for this early start on the gauntlet stuff for Week 2. We also have confirmed that anyone who uses this method to generate a score does not appear on the leaderboards in anyway.
In case you were wondering what the exploit looks like, here’s Rob showcasing it (although he did not use it himself in his runs).
This one was picked up and fixed pretty quickly, which bodes well for the future of the lederboards. Let’s see what tricks players can come up with next!
