It seems the Midwinter Blight event has turbocharged Cinder drop rates, as they’re basically 10 times more frequent!
Players have been noticing some insane numbers when it comes to Aberrant Cinders after today’s patch. We are seeing players opening every single Tortured chest with ease after only a short time spent in the Helltide. Aside from the special event enemies sometimes spawning in ambushes and the Red-Cloaked Horror occasionally replacing Hellborne, the actual drop rate of Cinders is through the roof.
Rob went over the changes and estimated you can get around 1,000 Cinders per Blood Maiden run easily. He even managed to get over 15,000 with 8 minutes to go in a tide!
Now obviously these are extreme streamer numbers, but many more players have been reporting being able to clear the entirety of a Helltide’s chests after 30 minutes.

Whether or not this is a bug remains to be seen. But what is certain is that it’s raining Cinders out there! So if you need anything from Helltides, now’s the time to get in there!
