As we are getting closer to Season 8, many players struggle to stay motivated during the final weeks of the current Season. The Paragon grind feels exhausting and most events are too short-lived to keep the last few weeks interesting enough. So, let’s explore what could be done to keep the game engaging and exciting as the season winds down.
Longer and More Events
Events like the “Mother’s Blessing” and “March of the Goblins” are extremely popular. They give players a big incentive to log in and keep grinding. However, they only last for a few days. World of Warcraft, for example, offers different events every week. They range from Timewalking to many small seasonal events like “Love is in the Air” and “Children’s Week”.
A similar approach could work in Diablo 4, with a weekly or bi-weekly rotation of events. Each could offer unique rewards, such as XP, loot, or even cosmetics.

The End of the World
On Reddit, players have been discussing a fun idea for the last day of the season: An event where we fight off waves of demons until we’re overwhelmed.
The concept would be that the world is overrun by an unlimited amount of demons, and players have to battle them till the last moment before the servers shut down to prepare for the next season.
We have seen similar events already in other games, like World of Warcraft during the Beta or the “End of the World” in Final Fantasy XIV before they shut down the servers for a re-release.
