<p>A Diablo 4 player gave their helping to the community ahead of Season of the Malignant and created a useful map with all side quests that lead to dungeons for optimal Renown.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Useful Map for Renown Farm in Season 1</h2>



<p>The map created by Tedsey will be useful to everyone trying to increase their Renown while collecting loot from dungeons in Season 1. </p>

<p>Patch 2.0 and Vessel of Hatred are less than a month away!  So we thought it was time to point out some of the big changes that have been announced that perhaps didn&#8217;t get that much attention. We&#8217;re starting with the massive shift in itemization related to Sacred and Ancestral items, as the system is being entirely overhauled. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Say Goodbye to Sacred Items</h2>



<p>First off, Sacred items will no longer exist. New ones will not drop after 2.0, and old ones will be renamed. You&#8217;ll have &#8220;Legacy&#8221; items on your Eternal Realm characters where once there were Sacreds, so they will truly be gone from Diablo 4. The existing &#8220;Legacy&#8221; items will not be upgradable either. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Non-Ancestral Items Aka Everything Else</h2>



<p>We now only have two item types, Ancestral and&#8230; not. The regular items will have a maximum item level of 750. Non-Ancestral Legendaries dropped after character level 60 will always be 750. Normal items can be masterworked 4 times, but only if they&#8217;re item level 750. There&#8217;s also going to be a whole lot more Normal items on Eternal Realms, as all current gear with an item level over 540 will be moved down to 540 after the patch. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Greater Ancestral Power</h2>



<p>Ancestral items have received the most changes &#8211; well, if you don&#8217;t count being entirely removed as the biggest change ever when it comes to Sacreds. First off, they won&#8217;t be dropping at all until Torment level 1. And, if you&#8217;ll recall, you need to be level 60 and clear the Pit level 20 to access T1. But there&#8217;s some very powerful tradeoffs for this as well. </p>



<p>Ancestrals will not only always be the maximum item power, 800, but will also ALWAYS drop with at least one Greater Affix! They&#8217;re also the only place to get <em>any</em> Greater Affixes, so they&#8217;re quite literally the only game in town. </p>

A Preview of New Hairstyles Coming in Vessel of Hatred!

<p>Blizzard has posted a video on Vessel of Hatred, revealing various exciting tidbits from the upcoming campaign!</p>



<p>This post contains story spoilers.</p>



<p>The Vessel of Hatred story kicks off with us defeating Lilith and Neyrelle sailing south with Mephisto&#8217;s Soulstone in hand. In the new expansion, Neyrelle seeks salvation from Mephisto and searches for a way to banish him back into the abyss.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Story So Far</h2>



<p>As we wrap up D4, there has been a huge battle between Inarius and Lilith and all of her demons. Throughout the campaign, you&#8217;re trying to defeat Lilith, so you team up with characters like the young Neyrelle and Lorath who ends up being the catalyst of the group.</p>



<p>Inarius thought that by defeating Lilith, he would be accepted by heaven, which didn&#8217;t prove true, even though he stabbed Lilith. She used that against him and killed Inarius. Her goal was to devour her father Mephisto and we ended up stopping her.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What&#8217;s Coming in Vessel of Hatred</h2>



<p>Neyrelle is left with the Soulstone and decides to take his essence. Lorath will help us find information on where Neyrelle went. Over time, things start to unfold, and she will realize she can&#8217;t do this alone and you will start searching for her.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Burnt Knights</h2>



<p>The Cathedral of Light in Vessel of Hatred is in disarray with the death of Inarius. It became split and this created an opening for a whole new sect to rise up and take things into their own hands,  and so you end up with the militant wing of the church that is the Burnt Knights. The Burnt Knights are led by Urivar, Survivor of Hell. He is uncompromising and feels that he&#8217;s going to make better decisions for the church. They battled in Hell and now they&#8217;re on a manhunt for Neyrelle and Lorath. They want them to pay for their crimes.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hatred&#8217;s Corruption</h2>



<p>Mephisto is the Lord of Hatred, and probably the one Prime Evil that can create the most deep-rooted chaos, breaking up the people of Sanctuary. In the events of Diablo II, he was destroyed. He&#8217;s been slowly resurrecting himself in Hell, and he wants to come back and bring himself back to Sanctuary. Now that he&#8217;s trapped in the Soulstone that Neyrelle carries, this is his opportunity.</p>



<p>The <strong>Herald of Hatred</strong> is Mephisto&#8217;s wolf form. It&#8217;s this astral-projected form that he gets to put out and connect with the player, and whisper in people&#8217;s ears. The connection between Neyrelle, the player, and Mephisto is the fate of the world. Neyrelle wants to get rid of him, but the more time she spends with the stone, the tighter the bond between her and the stone is. The corrupting influence of Mephisto&#8217;s Soulstone is going to convince her to bring Mephisto back instead of destroying him as she originally wanted, so we need to make sure that she fulfills her original intent and doesn&#8217;t fall to Mephisto&#8217;s influence.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Akarat and the Spirit Realm</h2>



<p>Neyrelle plans to bring the Soulstone to the Vault of Light to purify it of Mephisto&#8217;s essence. The vault is a sacred place that <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/vessel-of-hatred-whos-akarat/">Akarat</a> created. His presence is important through the history of Sanctuary. Akarat wandered the world, speaking the teachings of the Zakarum faith. His tomb is said to be in the Vault of Light, which is in Nahantu. Akarat discovered the Spirit Realm.</p>



<p>When the Worldstone was forged and Sanctuary came out of it, this veil was created, and that&#8217;s what created the Spirit Realm. Angels aren&#8217;t there, Demons aren&#8217;t there, it&#8217;s a very special place for humanity. For a long time, the Spirit Realm remained untouched and now Mephisto&#8217;s corruption is creeping its way and that&#8217;s the fear that everybody in Nahantu is thinking about.</p>



<p>Eru is a spiritual leader with a deep connection to Nahantu who helps us on our journey to find Neyrelle, who has been spotted in the jungle.</p>



<p>The Vessel of Hatred story is about isolation. Neyrelle is trying to do this alone, but at some point, you realize that things are escalating, so we move from isolation to the idea of being strong together.</p>

New Diablo 4 Campaign Details: Neyrelle’s Struggle and Mephisto’s Dark Influence


<p>Blizzard&#8217;s Diablo 4 has crossed the $1 billion revenue mark since its release in June 2023, with around $150 million coming from in-game purchases!</p>



<p>Blizzard has hit a major milestone with Diablo IV. According to a LinkedIn profile by Harrison Froeschke, Senior Product Manager, the game has generated over $1 billion in revenue. This figure includes $150 million from microtransactions, such as cosmetics.</p>



<p>It&#8217;s important to point out that Blizzard did not release this information through official channels, but instead, it was revealed via Froeschke&#8217;s job description on LinkedIn.</p>

<p>DIablo IV started generating impressive revenue right after launch, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-crosses-666-million-sell-through-within-5-five-days-of-launch/">earning $666 million in just 5 days</a>, largely driven by pre-orders. As of June 2024, the game was added to <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-coming-to-xbox-game-pass-on-march-28/">Xbox Game Pass</a>, which likely contributed to the continued financial success.</p>

<p>Blizzard just released a new Diablo 4 video recapping the game&#8217;s campaign so far. It is a perfect refresher for players wanting to catch up on where we left off before starting the next chapter with Vessel of Hatred!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Story So Far</h2>



<p>The base game mainly focused on the fight between Lilith and Inarius. Throughout the campaign, we witnessed Lilith&#8217;s quest to destroy her father, Mephisto, and an enraged Inarius trying to stop her at every turn. Things did not end well for either of them. Inarius met his end at Lilith’s hands, and we, the players, brought Lilith down in that unforgettable final battle. This video perfectly summarizes all the events that have unfolded throughout the story so far and is preparing us for the upcoming expansion, &#8220;Vessel of Hatred.&#8221;</p>

<p>The story follows a world on the brink of destruction. It highlights the twisted plans of Lilith and Inarius, the creators of Sanctuary. In the story of Diablo 4, your character is known as the wanderer, who is bonded to Lilith by demon blood and plays an important role in uncovering her twisted plot. Along the way, we meet important allies like Lorath, Donan, and Neyrelle who join the fight. Lilith&#8217;s ultimate plan is to consume the essence of her father, Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, who is on the verge of being reborn in Hell. If she succeeds, all would be doomed.</p>



<p>Inarius and his Cathedral of Light also pursue Lilith, believing it is his destiny to kill her. Meanwhile, Mephisto, lurking in the shadows, manipulates events to protect himself. He sends a herald to assist the Wanderer in hunting down Lilith. Eventually, Neyrelle manages to imprison Mephisto, stripping Lilith of her power. In her final moments, Lilith warns of a dire future, leaving Neyrelle with the burden of dealing with Mephisto as the battle between Heaven, Hell, and humanity continues.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve been farming Uniques in Diablo 4, you may have noticed how these items are distributed across different classes and gear slots. </p>



<p>As a Necromancer main, Reddit user <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/tjglaser1s/">tjglaser1s</a> couldn&#8217;t help but wonder why, after more than a year, the class still hasn&#8217;t seen any unique focus items, with Sorcerers also lacking in this area. As a result, the player decided to dig deeper and break down the Unique items per class and slot, and the results are the following:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Breaking Down the Numbers</h2>



<p>From the chart, we see the total number of Uniques per class and here are some key highlights:</p>

<li>Necromancers and Sorcerers haven&#8217;t received any Focus Uniques so far in Diablo IV.</li>



<li>Overall, the number of total Uniques for each class seems pretty balanced.</li>



<li>Rogue, Barbarian, and Sorc have the most weapon Uniques (11).</li>

<p>Until now, hitting Tier 5 <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/renown/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Renown</a> has been a go-to strategy for grabbing additional Paragon points. But with Season 6 on the horizon, players are starting to wonder: will it still be worth it?</p>



<p>In the latest Diablo 4 PTR update, Blizzard shook things up by swapping the rewards for Renown Tiers 4 and 5, along with adjusting the gold payout for each Renown unlock.</p>



<p>Before, Tier 5 was a big deal, rewarding players with +4 Paragon Points for each zone where they unlocked Tier 5 Renown. These points are account-wide, so they have always been a high-priority reward.</p>

<p>But now? Blizzard has moved those Paragon points down to Tier 4! So what is left for Tier 5? You will still get +80 Max Obols to your Obols cap, but it is nowhere near as interesting as getting additional Paragon Points.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Is Tier 5 Still Worth It?</h3>



<p>That is exactly what players are debating. The new question is: should you still grind Renown up to Tier 5 for Season 6? With the shift in rewards, many are saying <strong>probably not</strong>. Of course, this is only a question pondered over by new players or those who have not yet completed the original Renown grind.</p>



<p>This change seems to make the game more approachable for new and returning players by giving them easier access to Paragon Points without the hefty Tier 5 grind. It definitely makes things less intimidating!</p>



<p>Right now, the consensus is that players should focus on hitting Tier 4 Renown in each region, along with hunting down those Altars of Lilith. After that? The extra Obols cap from Tier 5 is more of a &#8220;nice to have&#8221; rather than a &#8220;must have.&#8221;</p>
