The mid-season patch brought a lot of balance changes to the game. However, the biggest change it made was an undocumented one, and possibly an unintended one. Aberrant Cinders have been dropping like rain ever since patch 2.0.5, and players have been racking up some astonishing amounts.

With the extremely generous new drop rates it’s time to see just how far we can push this. One player has already gone for it and got just shy of 16,000 with 2 seconds to go!
The Blood Maiden events in particular drop insane amounts, so the giant number is reliant on finding chain-summons of the maiden. And it’s definitely possible to get more, but just how much more?
Now, once you get all these thousands of cinders, you can’t really do much with them. You don’t need that many to open up all the Helltide chests and after that they’re just a big number on the screen and nothing else. Players are already thinking up ways to use the excess currency, however.
