<p>Blizzard just dropped Patch 2.1.2 which introduces a new <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/nightmare-dungeon-affix-guarantees-forgotten-altar-spawn/">Nightmare Dungeon Affix</a> that guarantees a Forgotten Altar spawn and a long-awaited fix for <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Rings_53.webp" alt="Ring of Mendeln"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Ring" data-item-quality="unique">Ring of Mendeln</span></span></a></p>



<p>At the same time, the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/mothers-blessing-returns-to-sanctuary-on-february-18-xp-and-gold-gains-increased/">Mother&#8217;s Blessing event</a> has returned to Sanctuary, which means 35% increased XP gains and 50% increased Gold gains until <strong>February 25</strong>. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Does This Even Work?</h2>

<li><strong>Infinite Rain of Arrows</strong>: By stacking 75% cooldown reduction (cap) with Beastfall Boots and using the class mechanic Preparation synergy, the player burns through 150 resources instantly, resetting the remaining 10 seconds on RoA&#8217;s cooldown every time.</li>



<li><strong>No Phase 2 Projectile</strong>s: Lilith never even gets a chance to spawn them. The player staggered her so fast that she could not trigger the attack.</li>



<li><strong>Tanking Floor Damage</strong>: RoA Rogue generates a massive barrier multiple times per second, letting the player stand in deadly zones without worry.</li>
</ul>

Rogue Player Destroys Lilith Without Moving!


<p><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Season 7</a> of Diablo 4 is in full swing, but many of us players are finding one aspect of the grind particularly frustrating: the Whispers system tied to Coven reputation. While the process of earning Grim Favors is rather straightforward, the way it is structured is causing unnecessary interruptions and frustration.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Coven Reputation Grind: A Time-Consuming Process</h2>

<p>A big part of the Season 7 Journey revolves around grinding <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/#seasonal_questline:_ally_with_the_coven" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Coven reputation</a> to unlock the seasonal pet reward. The fastest way to earn this reputation is by completing <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/headhunts-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Headhunts</a>, which grant Grim Favors. The issue? Once you reach 10 <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/tree-of-whispers-guide/#completing_whispers_of_the_dead" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Grim Favors</a>, you cannot earn more until you redeem them at the Tree of Whispers, forcing you to take unnecessary detours.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Constant Interruptions Break the Flow of Gameplay</h2>



<p>On paper, this system does not seem too bad. Earning Grim Favors is easy, but having to stop everything just to turn them in? That is where the frustration begins.</p>



<ul>
<li><strong>Frequent Backtracking</strong>: Having to constantly return to the Tree of Whispers, port back to town, or travel to the Raven of the Tree hub, is disrupting whatever you were doing.</li>



<li><strong>Missed Bosses &amp; Rewards</strong>: If you are in the middle of a Headhunt, you could miss the boss fight and valuable loot just because you hit the Grim Favor cap.</li>



<li><strong>Progress Blocks</strong>: Sometimes, another Whisper completes before the one you are actively working on, meaning any further effort stops counting until you make another trip to redeem favors.</li>
</ul>



<p>This stop-and-go design is counterintuitive to an easy gameplay loop, forcing us, the players, to manage our turn-ins instead of focusing on the action.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Managing Your Inventory: Another Layer of Frustration</h2>



<p>To make things worse, Headhunts drop a ton of loot, including Ancestral Legendaries and Uniques. While that is great, it also means that every time you pick up a cache from the Raven, you risk filling up your inventory too quickly. Many players find themselves stuck in a frustrating loop:</p>



<ul>
<li>Grind Headhunts</li>



<li>Go to the Raven to redeem Grim Favors</li>



<li>Pick up cache</li>



<li>Run out of inventory space</li>



<li>Teleport to the Tree of Whispers Hub again to clear stash</li>



<li>Repeat</li>
</ul>



<p>It is an unnecessary cycle that could be solved with a more simplified system.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Community Frustration &amp; Possible Fixes</h2>



<p>This issue has not gone unnoticed. A big portion of the Diablo 4 community has been vocal about the frustration, with many suggesting a quality-of-life update that would allow Grim Favors to function as a currency, letting you redeem them at any time without interrupting gameplay.</p>

Diablo 4 Patch 2.1.2 Notes


<p>We have another Witchcraft power being temporarily disabled&#8230; again!  <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" data-tooltip-type="Witch power" href="#"><span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><img decoding="async" data-tooltip-type="Witch power" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_WitchPowers_1.webp" alt="Twilight Warding"><span class="tooltip-name" data-tooltip-type="Witch power">Twilight Warding</span></span></a> is once again causing players to die, but in a much more rare situation this time. There will be a hotfix coming, but for now the power is unavailable. </p>

<p>Update 2/13, we will need to temporarily disable Twilight Warding again. There was an additional niche interaction with boss powers that was unaccounted for, which is still causing some weird interactions that could result in players dying unintentionally.</p>
<p>We are working on a fix internally that we’re looking to include in a future hotfix, thanks for everyone’s patience on this. We’ll update here once it’s been reenabled.</p>

Twilight Warding Disabled Again


<p>From February 18-25, while Mother&#8217;s Blessing is active, you will receive an additional <strong>Gift of the Tree cache</strong>, whenever you return your Grim Favors.</p>



<p>Additionally, all players will earn <strong>35% Experience and 50% Gold at a (multiplicative) increased rate</strong>.</p>

<h4>Blessings Aplenty: Earn Gift of the Tree Caches</h4>
<p>The Tree of Whispers influence has grown as of late, gnarling their roots in search of their lost Fugitive Heads. From <b>February 18–February 25</b>, while Mother’s Blessing is active, whenever you return your Grim Favors, you’ll also receive an additional <b>Gift of the Tree</b> cache. Its contents—a Collection of Chaos cache—are as unpredictable as their namesake, enjoy the many items that lay within.</p>
<p>In addition to your bonus Caches—while Mother’s Blessing is active—all players will earn <b>35% experience and 50% Gold at a (multiplicative) increased rate</b>. Lilith blesses all her children, as this bonus applies to both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, and all World Tiers. This bonus stacks, so pair it with Elixirs and the Urn of Aggression to maximize your experience gains while killing Monsters.</p>
<p>Use this boost to carve through ranks of the Battle Pass, climb to higher Levels and World Tiers with burning swiftness, complete your Season Journey to earn Dorian the Raven, and level multiple characters to their maximum potential. For those curious about where to find this boon, look for the in-game icon above your experience bar that signifies the increased rate of earning Gold and experience.</p>
<p>The Blessed Mother’s cruelty is matched by her generosity, but not for long. Gather round, stoke the fire, and rally your most savvy of companions to decimate demons with renewed fervor. Rise to new heights, revel in the shared generosity of the Blessed Mother and Tree of Whispers!</p>

Mother’s Blessing Returns to Sanctuary on February 18: XP and Gold Gains Increased!


<p>Blizzard are hiding a quest! It seems the &#8220;Ancestral Favor Level Up&#8221; quest that tracks your progress for the event is causing some issues. Blizzard will be temporarily removing its visual indicators from the quest log and map, while the quest itself remains completable and progressable. You can still do the quest normally, you just won&#8217;t be seeing it in your log or on the map, so don&#8217;t forget to check back with the NPC if you think you&#8217;re close to a new reputation level. </p>

<p>Hi all</p>
<p>We are going to remove the ability to have the “Ancestral Favor Level Up” quest tied to the Lunar New Year event from being seen in-game as it is causing some backend issues.</p>
<p>The quest can still be completed for the event but it means you won’t be able to track it on your quest bar. We just wanted to make players aware as there may be confusion with this disappearing.</p>
<p>We would recommend players to occasionally head back to Ying Yue to turn in and check on your reputation track status while the visibility of tracking this quest is disabled.</p>

Lunar Awakening Quest Temporarily Invisible, but Still Available


<p><strong>UPDATE</strong>: Blizzard has now posted the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-patch-2-1-2-notes/">official Patch 2.1.2 notes</a>.</p>



<p>Good news for Necromancers as Blizzard announced that patch 2.1.2 arrives next week! </p>



<p>Global Director of Community Adam Fletcher shared that we&#8217;ll be getting a new patch next week with patch notes coming on Friday. The big thing we know is coming with the patch is a fix for the <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Rings_53.webp" alt="Ring of Mendeln"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Ring" data-item-quality="unique">Ring of Mendeln</span></span></a>, which has been doing a lot less damage than intended since the season started. The patch will hopefully also bring many more fixes to various issues like Kurast Undercity tributes not working properly, the visual issues console players have been having, and more. </p>



<p>Fletcher also teased that he&#8217;s taking on an additional role or roles at work, but we&#8217;ll have to wait to find out more about that. </p>

<p>Blizzard has officially confirmed that the second expansion for Diablo 4 is set to launch in 2026. The news was revealed by Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson during the DICE Summit in Las Vegas.</p>
