No Angels in Diablo 4? The Silence Is Getting Weird

It has been nearly a year since Diablo 4 launched, and yet one of the game’s biggest factions is still completely missing: the angels.

Unlike Diablo 3, where the High Heavens and characters like Tyrael played huge roles, Diablo 4 has been strangely quiet on the celestial front. Even in Season 8, there seems to be no sign, mention, or lore update tied to the angels at all.

During the campaign, Inarius calls out to the High Heavens and is met with silence.

So… where are they?

Fans on Blizzard’s forums have started to raise the question. Are the angels hiding? Are they dead? Has something happened to the Crystal Arch; their divine source? Some even believe that they are fighting a battle on another front, or perhaps even corrupted.

But let’s be honest; most of us just want to see Tyrael again.

Whatever the reason, Blizzard has yet to comment. But given how important the angels were in past games, and their role in the Eternal Conflict, it feels more like a deliberate setup than a simple oversight.

Maybe the angels are just late to the party. But players are definitely watching the “skies.”
